(a.) The charges for Land Transfer boundary surveys (not exceeding 1 acre) requiring a plan within borough and town limits are,

(g.) Where traverse is an offset, as in the case of rivers or of fenced boundaries, an additional charge of £3 per mile is to be made in (c), (d), and (e).

(i.) "Forest" includes all vegetation over 10 ft. Any clearing of lines in surveys under (c), (d), and (e) to be charged at same rates as in (d) of Class 2.
(j.) The above rates apply only to lines cut and observed, but adopted work from prior surveys is to be charged at the rate of £3 per mile.

TRAVELLING-EXPENSES.
When working under Class 1 actual travelling-expenses is to be charged. Under Classes 2 and 3 a commuted allowance of 4s. 6d. per mile by road, or 2s. 3d. per mile by railway (reckoned one way), from the place of business of the surveyor, or in special cases by mutual agreement. -
DAILY RATE.
When employed in the field by daily rate the surveyor’s fee is to be £4 4s. per day, inclusive of the time taken in going to and from work, but exclusive of cost of labour, travelling, and other necessary expenses; and the rate for office work shall be £3 3s. -
ENGINEERING CHARGES.
(a.) These charges apply to the road-construction required by subsection (2) of section 116 of the Public Works Act, 1908:
On work not exceeding £300 in value, 7½ per cent., but not less than £10.
On work over £300 up to £600 in value, 7 per cent., but not less than £20.
On work over £600 up to £1,000 in value, 6 per cent., but not less than £40.
For work over £1,000, 5 per cent., but not less than £60.
(b.) 50 per cent. of the amount is payable on completion of the plans, specifications, and estimate, and the balance on the completion of the work.
(c.) 25 per cent. of the above engineering charges may be deducted when only plans, specifications, and estimates are supplied, and where no supervision is required. -

An addition of 20 per cent. to be made to the rates in (a) and (b).
(c.) When the sections in a subdivision exceed 10 acres each, the additional charge for all subdivisional boundaries shall be at mileage rates (Class 3).
(d.) Three shillings and ninepence per chain to be added to rates in (a) and (b) for all bush lines cut and observed, with vegetation over 10 ft. high, and 3s. per chain for lines with vegetation under 10 ft. requiring clearing.
(e.) When a surveyor charges full rates for a survey containing adopted work, he becomes responsible to his client for the correctness of the whole work; otherwise the value of adopted work, computed at mileage rates, less £3 per mile, must be deducted from the charges. -

GENERAL CONDITIONS.
(a.) All rates and charges in Classes 1, 2, 3, and 6 include costs of labour, also all field and office expenses, except pegs and plan-forms, which shall be charged at cost.
(b.) For the survey of country lands it shall be optional for the surveyor to undertake the work at either acreage, mileage, or by daily rate.
(c.) Equitable arrangements on the basis of these charges to be made in cases unprovided for, or which may not come strictly within the foregoing rates, or for which, through special circumstances, the scheduled charge is inapplicable.
(d.) The plan of a survey is included in the survey charge, but a duplicate plan, or a tracing of the plan, is to be charged extra.
(e.) Duty stamps are to be charged at value.
(f.) In large surveys the surveyor shall be entitled to progress payments. In all cases fees are due and payable on completion of the plan.

WAIRUA COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION LEVYING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Wairua County Council hereby resolves as follows:
That, for the purpose of providing for the interest and repayment of principal and other charges on a loan of two thousand pounds (£2,000), authorized to be raised by the Wairua County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of providing portion of the cost of constructing two traffic suspension bridges across the Waiau River to give access to the Tutaekuri Block, and the construction of about one mile of dray-road through Tutaekuri 104
