BOROUGH OF DARGAVILLE.
Results of Polls on Proposals to raise Loans.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of ratepayers of the Borough of Dargaville was taken on the 20th day of October, 1920, on the proposal of the Dargaville Borough Council to borrow the sum of £9,145 to carry out certain works as advertised in the Wairoa Bell and North Auckland Times of September 23rd and 28th and October 5th and 12th.
The number of votes recorded was as follows: for the proposal, 135; against the proposal, 69; informal votes, 4: total, 208.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of ratepayers of the Borough of Dargaville was taken on the 20th day of October, 1920, on the proposal of the Dargaville Borough Council to borrow the sum of £31,855 to carry out certain works as advertised in the Wairoa Bell and North Auckland Times of September 23rd and 28th and October 5th and 12th.
The number of votes recorded was as follows: For the proposal, 154; against the proposal, 53; informal votes, 1: total, 208.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL.
Notice of Result of Poll.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of that part of Linwood Ward of the City of Christchurch named by resolution of the Christchurch City Council “North Linwood and Avonside Special Rating Area,” taken on the 20th day of October, 1920, on the proposal of the Christchurch City Council to raise a loan of £17,000 for the construction of waterworks for the supply of pure water (and for all things necessary and incidental thereto) for the use of the inhabitants of the said special rating area, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 152, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 12.
And I declare the proposal to be carried.

TOKOMAIRIRO RIVER BOARD.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Tokomairiro River Board District taken on the 29th day of October, 1920, on the proposal of the Tokomairiro River Board to borrow the sum of £2,500 for the purpose of removing obstructions from and clearing the bed of the Tokomairiro River, the number of valid votes recorded for the proposal was 94, and the number of valid votes recorded against the proposal was 60.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Waipa, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

WAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Waipa taken on the 21st day of October, 1920, on the proposal of the Waipa County Council to borrow the sum of £12,000 for the purpose of procuring the necessary plant for road-making, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 161, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 16.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

AKAROA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Special Loan of £3,000 under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Akaroa was taken on the 28th day of October, 1920, on the proposal of the Akaroa Borough Council to borrow the sum of £3,000 for the following purposes:—
-
To construct kerbing, channelling, and surface drainage, and the formation, metalling, and asphalting of footpaths in the Borough of Akaroa for a distance of 116 chains, for which purpose it is proposed to borrow the sum of £1,500.
-
To provide for the cost of the necessary metal and material for the said work, and for the crushing of the said metal, for which purpose it is proposed to borrow the sum of £500.
-
To erect walls for a distance of 40 chains along The Esplanade in the said borough, for which purpose it is proposed to borrow the sum of £500.
-
For beach-reclamation at each end of the town, for which purpose it is proposed to borrow the sum of £500.
The total sum required for such purposes is £3,000.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 83, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 22.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Komakorau Special Rating District.—Loan of £9,000 for constructing and metalling Roads.
PURSUANT to the provisions of section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that the following is the result of a poll of the ratepayers of the Komakorau Special Rating District taken on the 29th day of October, 1920, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £9,000 for the purpose of constructing and metalling certain roads in that portion of the Kirikiri roa Road District known as the Komakorau Special Rating District.
The number of votes recorded was: For the proposal, 43; against the proposal, 4.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
