ELSTOW DRAINAGE BOARD.


LOAN OF £2,000.—RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL INTEREST RATES.


IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Elstow Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also other charges on a loan of £2,000, authorized to be raised by the Elstow Drainage Board, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of improving present watercourses and drains and constructing new watercourses and drains, and also to pay to the Piako County Council compensation for drainage-works taken from it, the said Elstow Drainage Board hereby makes and levies special rates (on a graduated scale according to their several classes as set out in the classification list of the Waihou Special Rating Area) of 1-1/16th of one penny in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property in Class “A,” 1d. in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property in Class “B,” and ¾d. (three farthings) in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property in Class “C”; and that such special rates shall be annual-recurring rates during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 30th day of April and the 30th day of October in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Boundaries of Special Rating Area.

All that area in the Waihou and Manawarau Ridings of the County of Piako bounded by a line commencing at a point on the right bank of the Waihou River at the north corner of Section 6, Block XI, Aroha S.D., and following that river to the intersection of Woods Road on its northern side; thence following along that road to the junction of the Stanley Road, and across same to its western side; thence following along the western side of that road to the south-east corner of Section 4, Block I, Wairere S.D.; thence follow the south and western boundary-lines of that section to the Waiorongomai-Mangakawa Road, which along to the junction of the main drain; thence following a skew line across Section 17, Block XI, Aroha S.D., to Mikkelsen’s Road, which along on its eastern side to the junction of Taylor’s Road, and along that road on its northern side to the road forming the eastern boundary-line of Sections 256/7, 262/3, of the Waihou Township, which along to the south boundary of Section 92, Block XI, Aroha S.D.; thence following a skew line across the said Section 92 and also Section 92A, thence continuing on in a further skew line across Sections 99/3/4, 100, and 101, Block XI, Aroha S.D., to the junction of racecourse and Lovegrove’s Roads; thence following along the south side of Racecourse Road to the Racecourse Reserve; thence following a direct line across Racecourse Reserve to the Stanley Road, and along that road to the north-west corner of Section 6, Block XI, Aroha S.D.; thence along the northern boundary-line of the said Section 6 to the Waihou River, the point of commencement.

OMAKA ROAD BOARD.


RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.


IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by subsection (b) of section 16 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and subsection (10) of section 41 of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Omaka Road Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Omaka Road Board Hospital and Charitable Aid Boards’ Contribution Loan of £1,850, 1920, authorized to be raised by the Board, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of paying the Board’s share of capital expenditure of the Wairau Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, as certified to by the Secretary to the said Board, as required by subsection (10) of section 41 of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, under date the 20th day of July, 1920, the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one twenty-fifth (1-25th) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Omaka Road Board District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1908.


NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the District of Wellington requires to take all that piece of land situate in Kaiwarra, and being part Section 3, Harbour District, Block XI, Belmont S.D., bounded N.W., 592·2 links to Winchester Street; N.E., 378·61 links to Fore Street; S.E., 259·65 links adjoining Lots 9, 10, 11, and 12, D.P. 1149, 31·18 links adjoining right-of-way from Fore Street, 80·4 links adjoining Lot 69, part Section 3, Harbour District; S.W., 206·7 links, and then changing to N.W. 120·1 links, 29·48 links to old Porirua Road; area, 1 acre, less area of right-of-way above mentioned. This area is required for the purposes of a public work—namely, a public school within the meaning of the Education Act, 1914.

And notice is hereby given that a plan of the said land is open for inspection at the office of the said Board in Mercer Street in the City of Wellington.

All persons affected by such taking are hereby required to set forth in writing well-grounded objections to the execution of such work or the taking of such land, and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the said Board.
