Special Order by the Upper Ashburton Road Board making By-laws.

THE following special order, made by the Upper Ashburton Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Road Boards Act, 1908.

UPPER ASHBURTON ROAD BOARD.

By-law.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon it by the Road Boards Act, 1908, and the Public Works Act, 1908, the Upper Ashburton Road Board doth hereby make the following by-law, which shall apply to all the roads under its control:—

It shall not be lawful for any person at any time to cut grass for seed on any road under the control of the Upper Ashburton Road Board without the previous consent in writing of the said Board.

Any person who shall commit a breach of this by-law shall for every such offence be liable to a fine not exceeding £10.

The common seal of the inhabitants of the Upper Ashburton Road District was hereunto affixed by order of the Upper Ashburton Road Board by Joshua Tucker and Angus Horsey, members of the said Board, in the presence of Alfred A. Fooks, Clerk to the Upper Ashburton Road Board.

I, Alfred Augustus Fooks, Clerk of the Upper Ashburton Road Board, do hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a by-law duly made by the said Board, the resolution for making which was passed at a special meeting of the Board duly held on the 7th day of August, 1920, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the Board held on the 2nd day of October, 1920.

Approval of Fees for Licensing of Vehicles fixed by By-law.—Waimarino County Council.

Wellington, 21st October, 1920.

IT is hereby notified, in accordance with section 107 of the Counties Act, 1908, that so much of the by-laws made by the Waimarino County Council as appoints the several sums to be paid to the Waimarino County funds for the licensing of vehicles plying for hire has this day been approved by His Excellency the Governor-General.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Council of the Borough of Devonport, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

BOROUGH OF DEVONPORT.

Result of Poll re Proposed Loan of £140,750 for Streets Improvements, &c.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, we hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Devonport taken on the 13th day of October, 1920, on the proposal of the Devonport Borough Council to borrow the sum of £140,750 for the purposes under-mentioned, the votes recorded for and against the proposals were as follows:—

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Council of the Borough of Masterton, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

MASTERTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

IN pursuance of the provisions of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of ratepayers of the Borough of Masterton was taken on the 13th day of October, 1920, upon the proposal of the Masterton Borough Council to raise a loan of £3,000 for the purpose of acquiring land, and constructing a new street through Town Acre 16 to connect Chapel and Queen Streets.

The number of valid votes recorded for the proposal was 635, the number of valid votes recorded against the proposal was 148, and there were 14 invalid votes.

I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

Dated this 16th day of October, 1920.
