2nd Lieutenant (late Lieutenant, N.Z.E.F.) William Edward Grant.

2nd Lieutenant Robert Gordon Slyfield is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, and posted to the Unattached List (General List), with seniority as from 2nd February, 1918. Dated 16th January, 1920.

The notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 15, of 19th February, 1920, relating to Lieutenant Robert Gordon Slyfield being struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force is cancelled.

RESERVE OF OFFICERS (temp.).

Major Frederick Burton Mabin is posted to the Retired List, under the provisions of General Headquarters Instructions No. 22, of 20th February, 1920. Dated 21st August, 1919.

Lieutenant Sinclair Chapman Reid, M.C., is transferred to the 4th (Waikato) Mounted Rifles. Dated 6th September, 1920.

Lieutenant George Greig is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, and posted to the Reserve of Officers (temp.). Dated 10th February, 1920.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries of the City of Wellington.

Wellington, 23rd October, 1920.

PURSUANT to section 14 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1913, it is hereby notified that a petition, in accordance with regulations, signed by not less than one-fourth of the electors of the areas described in the Schedule hereto, has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General praying that the said areas may be excluded from the City of Wellington. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.


SCHEDULE.

AREAS PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE CITY OF WELLINGTON.

All that area in the Wellington Land District, being part of Sections 35, 37, 56, and 57, Karori Registration District, situated in Block VI, Port Nicholson Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west generally by the north-western side of the Parkvale Road from its intersection with the north-eastern boundary-line of Section 56, Karori Registration District, to its intersection with the south-western boundary-line of Section 57, Karori Registration District; thence towards the south-east across Parkvale Road, and by the south-western boundary of the said Section 57 to its southernmost corner; thence towards the south-west and south-east by the north-western and south-western boundaries of Section 37, Karori Registration District, to the westernmost corner of Subdivision 4 of the said Section 37, as shown on plan marked A/608, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington; thence towards the north-east by the north-western boundary-line of the said Subdivision 4 to Parkvale Road; thence by a right line across the said road, and towards the north-east by that road for a distance of 54·54 links; again towards the north-east by a line parallel to the north-western boundary of the aforesaid Subdivision 4 for a distance of 227·26 links; thence towards the south-west by a line parallel to the aforesaid Parkvale Road for a distance of 54·54 links to the north-western boundary of the aforesaid Subdivision 4; thence towards the north-east by the aforesaid boundary-line to an unformed road; thence by the north-western side of the said road to its abutment with Section 35, Karori Registration District; thence towards the north-east by a right line to the north-western corner of Allotment 51 on plan No. 1775, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington; thence towards the north-west by Section 33, Karori Registration District, to its westernmost corner; again towards the north-east by the said Section 33 to the easternmost corner of Section 56, Karori Registration District; thence towards the north-west by north-eastern boundary-line of the said Section 56 to and across the Parkvale Road to the place of commencement.

Also all that area in the Wellington Land District, being Section 49, Makara Registration District, and Section 42 and part Sections 41 and 43, Karori Registration District, situated in Blocks V and VI, Port Nicholson Survey District. Bounded towards the south-west generally by Sections 46, 47, and 48, Makara Registration District, from the southernmost corner of Section 44, Makara Registration District, to the northernmost corner of Section 53, Karori Registration District; thence towards the south-east by Subdivisions XIII, XII, and XI of Section 43, Karori Registration District, to and across an unformed road to the westernmost corner of Subdivision X of the said Section 43; again towards the south-west generally by the eastern side of the said unformed road to and across another unformed road, and by its southern side and the north-eastern boundary-line of Section 54, Karori Registration District, to the easternmost corner of the said Section 54; again towards the south-east by the north-western boundary-line of Section 45, Karori Registration District, Block IX, Port Nicholson Survey District, and the production thereof to the South Karori Road; thence towards the north-east by the said road to its intersection with Subdivision VII of Section 43 aforesaid; again towards the north-east generally by the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of the said Subdivision VII and the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Subdivision V of the aforesaid Section 43, to and across Allington Road; again towards the south-east by the north-western side of Allington Road to Makara Road; thence by the south-western side of the said Makara Road to a point in line with the production of the south-eastern boundary-line of that part of Section 41, Karori Registration District, shown on plan marked A/5, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington; thence by a right line across the said Makara Road to and by the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of the aforesaid part of Section 41 to the intersection of the last-mentioned boundary with the south-eastern boundary-line of Section 44, Makara Registration District; thence towards the south-west to the southernmost corner of the said Section 44, the place of commencement.

Also all that area in the Wellington Land District, being part of Sections 2 and 9, Upper Kaiwarra Registration District, situated in Block VI, Port Nicholson Survey District. Bounded towards the south-west by Section 55, Karori Registration District, and Section 10, Upper Kaiwarra Registration District, from the westernmost corner of Section 9 to the waterworks reserve as proclaimed in New Zealand Gazette No. 43, of the 7th June, 1906, page 1425; thence towards the north-east generally by the western boundary-line of the said waterworks reserve to its intersection with part 2 of Section 2, Upper Kaiwarra Registration District; thence towards the north-east by the said part 2 of Section 2 to Section 38, Karori Registration District; thence towards the north-west by the said Section 38 and the aforesaid Section 55, Karori Registration District, for a distance of 3080 links to the place of commencement.
