NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act, 1909, by writing under his hand dated this thirteenth day of September, 1920, cancelled the registry of St. Mary’s Branch, No. 526, of the New Zealand District, Hibernian Australasian Catholic Benefit Society, Register No. 198, held at Carterton, on the ground that the said branch has ceased to exist.

PURSUANT to section 223 of the Companies Act, 1908, notice is hereby given that the GORE PUBLISHING COMPANY (LIMITED), a private company incorporated under the said Act, having its registered office in Mersey Street, Gore, and carrying on business as Printers and Publishers, did on the 11th day of August, 1920, pass a special resolution that it was desirable to reconstruct the said company, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily; and that CHARLES ROBERT WILLIAMSON, of Gore, Accountant, be appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between CHARLES MONTAGUE CALDER and ALBERT GOLDWATER, carrying on business as Solicitors in the City of Auckland, in New Zealand, under the style or firm of “Calder and Goldwater,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the 18th day of August, 1919; and the said business shall as from that date be deemed to have been carried on and shall henceforth be carried on by the said ALBERT GOLDWATER under the said firm-name.

OMAKA ROAD BOARD.

SPECIAL ORDER AUTHORIZING LOAN OF £1,850.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it by subsection (b) of section 16 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and subsection (10) of section 41 of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, and of all other Acts and powers (if any) it in that behalf enabling (an Order in Council in pursuance of section 20 of the Finance Act, 1919, having been obtained authorizing the Board to borrow), the Omaka Road Board hereby resolves by way of special order as follows:—

  1. That the Board proceed to raise a loan of one thousand eight hundred and fifty pounds (£1,850) for the purpose of paying the Board’s share of capital expenditure of the Wairau Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, as certified to by the Secretary to the said Board, as required by subsection (10) of section 41 of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, under date the 20th day of July, 1920.

  2. That such loan be called “The Omaka Road Board Hospital and Charitable Aid Board’s Contribution Loan of £1,850, 1920.”

  3. That the currency of the said loan shall be for a period of thirty-six and one-half (36½) years, commencing on the 1st day of September, 1920, and maturing on the 1st day of March, 1957.

  4. That the interest on the said loan shall be at the rate of five pounds five shillings (£5 5s.) per centum per annum, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st days of March and September in each year.

  5. That the form of security for the payment of principal and interest on the said loan shall be two (2) debentures of nine hundred and twenty-five pounds (£925) each, and relative coupons, in a form in conformity with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

  6. That the Board doth hereby appropriate and pledge as security for the repayment of the said loan, and the interest, sinking fund, and other charges thereon, the special rate of one twenty-fifth (1/25th) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Omaka Road Board District.

  7. That the principal and interest shall be payable at the Bank of New Zealand, Wellington.

RATING ON UNIMPROVED VALUE.

PURSUANT to section 39 of the Rating Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of Taradale Town District taken on the 15th day of September, 1920, on the proposal that the system of rating in the said district be on the unimproved value, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 128, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 39.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Advertisements are charged at the rate of 6d. per line for the first insertion, and 3d. per line for the second and any subsequent insertion.

Statements under the Mining Act are uniformly charged 23s.

All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible hand.

The number of insertions required must be written across the face of the advertisement.

The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening of each week, and notices for insertion must be received by the Government Printer before 3 o’clock of the day preceding publication.
