Council to borrow the sum of £2,250 for the purpose of renew-
ing culverts and bridges in the Taonui Riding, hereinafter
referred to as proposal No. 1; to borrow the sum of £3,000
for the purpose of erecting workmen's cottages in the Taonui
Riding, hereinafter referred to as proposal No. 2; and to
borrow the sum of £1,000 for the purpose of widening and
metalling No. 4 Line, Kairanga, hereinafter referred to as
proposal No. 3—
The number of votes recorded for proposal No. 1 was 89,
and the number of votes recorded against proposal
No. 1 was 10; informal, 1.
I therefore declare proposal No. 1 was carried.
The number of votes recorded for proposal No. 2 was 83,
and the number of votes recorded against proposal
No. 2 was 17; informal, 2.
I therefore declare proposal No. 2 was carried.
The number of votes recorded for proposal No. 3 was 90,
and the number of votes recorded against proposal
No. 3 was 14.
I therefore declare proposal No. 3 was carried.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

T HE following notice, received from the Mayor of the
Council of the Borough of Foxton, is published in
accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans
Act, 1913.

FOXTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913,
I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the
Borough of Foxton taken on the 8th day of September, 1920,
on the proposal of the Foxton Borough Council to borrow
the sum of £36,000 for the following purposes:
£35,300 to be applied for the purpose of providing with
an artesian water-supply and sewerage system within
such area within the boundaries of the borough as may
be decided by the Council; and
£700 to be applied for the purpose of erecting a fire-
station, and the purchase of fire-fighting appliances
as may be determined upon by the Council;
the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 222, and
the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 78.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block IX, Whernside
Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under
the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to
execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction
of a road in Block IX, Whernside Survey District; and for
the purposes of such public work the land described in
the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is
hereby further given that the plan of the land so required
to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Kekerangu, and
is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected
by the execution of the said public work or by the taking
of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded
objections to the execution of the said public work or to
the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing,
and send such writing, within forty days from the first
publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works
at Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
Approximate area of the piece of land required to be taken:
1 acre 3 roods.
Portion of S.G.R. 188, Block IX, Whernside Survey Dis-
trict.
In the Marlborough Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 49664,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon
coloured pink.

New Zealand Inscribed Stock Act, 1917.—Prescribing
Additional Form to be used, &c.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Minister of Finance
has prescribed the following form of Inscribed Stock
Register to be used under the New Zealand Inscribed Stock
Act, 1917, as additional to the existing Register:

The Minister of Finance has also directed that bank
managers and licensed sharebrokers who are members of
a stock exchange affiliated to the Stock Exchange Asso-
ciation of New Zealand may witness the signatures of
transferors and transferees of New Zealand Inscribed Stock
on the prescribed form of memorandum of transfer of New
Zealand Inscribed Stock.

Notice of Vesting Land in the Public Trustee under the
Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II), Unclaimed
Lands.
WHEREAS the Public Trustee has, for the purpose
of Part II of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908,
and its amendments (relating to unclaimed lands), made
due inquiries with respect to the land described in the
Schedule hereunder, and the whereabouts of the owner
thereof, and has in respect of the said land given the
notices prescribed by section 66 of the said Act, and has
in all respects complied with the provisions of that Act
pertinent hereto: And whereas the Public Trustee has
not thereby ascertained the whereabouts of the owner or
of any agent of such owner in New Zealand, nor has such
owner established his title to the said land, as required
by the said Act:
Now I, the undersigned, the Public Trustee, hereby
give notice that the said land is, under and by virtue of
the said Act, vested in the Public Trustee as aforesaid,
as from the date of the publication hereof, and will be
administered under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908,
and its amendments, the value of the land for the pur-
poses of section 67 (d) of the said Act being less than
£100.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Welling-
ton, containing 2 acres, more or less, being part Suburban
Section 1, Small-farm Settlement of Greytown. Bounded on
the south by public road leading from main road, through
Greytown-Kuratawhiti Plain and Matarawa, 2 chains; on
the north by Suburban Section 42, 2 chains; on the east
by other part of Section 1, 10 chains; on the west by
other part of Section 1, 10 chains; the eastern boundary
being 2 chains from the eastern boundary of Section 1, and
from a back road dividing said section from town section
of the said Town of Greytown; and being all the land de-
scribed in Conveyance 12620, from Henry Thomas Spratt to
John Henry Roberts and William George Roberts, of Grey-
town, Settlers.
