of an accommodation reserve; thence northerly along that
boundary and the eastern and northern boundaries of a
scenic reserve to the south-eastern boundary of Hauturu
East B2 A2 Block; thence northerly along the said boundary
to the north-eastern corner of the said block, and along a
right line to the southernmost corner of Hauturu B2 No. 2B 2,

Fixing Rates and Charges for Connections with Telephone Exchanges and for Telephone Toll Communications.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 20th day of September, 1920.

His Excellency THE ADMINISTRATOR PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the second day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, and gazetted on the fifth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, regulations were made and rates and charges fixed under the authority of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed "the said Act"), for connections with telephone exchanges and for telephone toll communications: And whereas it is expedient to amend such regulations and rates and charges in the manner hereinafter set forth:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities in that behalf enabling him, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the regulations numbered eleven, twelve, thirteen, and fourteen under the heading "Telephone Exchange Connections," and the regulation under the heading "Toll Communications," in the Schedule to the above-recited Order in Council, and in lieu thereof doth hereby make the regulations and fix the rates and charges set forth in the Schedule hereto; and doth declare that the regulations hereby made shall form part of and be read together with the regulations first herein mentioned, and shall come into force on and after the date of the publication of this Order in Council in the New Zealand Gazette.
SCHEDULE.
TELEPHONE EXCHANGE CONNECTIONS.
CHARGES.
11. In addition to the entrance fee of £1, the charge per annum payable in respect of the hire of any telephone instrument connected with a Government telephone exchange is as follows:-
Business Rate.
Business connections comprise warehouses, stores, shops, boardinghouses, or any premises which bear prima facie evidence of being utilized for business purposes or are advertised as such.
For an exclusive circuit—
At Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin .. 9 10 9 10 9 10
At other exchanges open continuously .. 8 0 8 15 9 10
At exchanges not open continuously .. 6 0 6 15 7 10
Common Rate.
If not less than two-thirds of the business subscribers and not less than two-thirds of the private-residence subscribers at an exchange other than those at Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, or Dunedin at any time express in writing, addressed to the Secretary of the Post and Telegraph Department, their desire in that behalf
For each subscriber : Business .. .. .. 7 0 7 15 8 10

Such expression as aforesaid shall be deemed to be operative until reversed by an expression of the desire of not less than two-thirds of the business subscribers and not less than two-thirds of the private-residence subscribers that the annual rates be those prescribed herein for business premises and private residences respectively.
Private-residence Rate.

At exchanges where the number of paying subscribers exceeds thirty and does not exceed fifty, and the hours of attendance are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, the charge is £1 per annum additional for each subscriber. In this case "subscriber" means each exclusive subscriber, and also each subscriber connected with a party line.
