✨ Agricultural and Pastoral Statistics

The Census and Statistics Act, 1910.—Agricultural and Pastoral Statistics.

THE collection of agricultural and pastoral statistics for the season 1919–20 is now sufficiently advanced to enable preliminary figures to be given for the Dominion. Complete returns have so far been received from 111 counties out of the 129 which comprise the Dominion; and estimates have been made for the incomplete portions of the remaining eighteen counties. It is, however, unfortunate that estimates have had to be made for portions (though small) of two of the most important grain-growing counties of the Dominion — viz., Ashburton and Waimate. It has also been necessary to estimate a portion of the particulars for Waimea County which comprises a large part of Nelson Land District.

The tables appended hereto are, of course, liable to revision on the complete returns coming to hand.
