THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Whangarei Harbour Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

WHANGAREI HARBOUR BOARD.

Result of Loan Poll.

In the matter of the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1908, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and its amendments, the Whangarei Harbour Act, 1907, the Whangarei Harbour Board Empowering Act, 1914, the Whangarei Harbour Board Vesting and Empowering Act, 1919, the Harbours Act, 1908, and the Appropriation Act, 1920.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a poll of ratepayers of the Whangarei Harbour District taken on the 2nd day of September, 1920, on the proposal to raise a loan of £120,000 for the purpose of improving the Whangarei Harbour, and purchase of a dredger and plant, the number of votes recorded was as follows: For the proposal, 733; against the proposal, 279; informal votes, 6.

I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

NOTICE is hereby given that the register of New Zealand 4½-per-cent. Inscribed Stock, maturing 20th April, 1939, and the register of New Zealand 5-per-cent. Inscribed Stock, maturing 20th April, 1929, will be closed from the 1st October to the 20th October, 1920 (inclusive), for the purpose of the issue of half-yearly interest.

Special Order made by the Vincent County Council altering the Boundaries of Ridings.

THE following special order, made by the Vincent County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1908.

VINCENT COUNTY COUNCIL.

IN conformity with the powers conferred upon it under section 98 of the Counties Act, 1908, and First Schedule, Counties Amendment Act, 1915, the Vincent County Council hereby resolves by way of special order that the Tarras portion of Hawera Riding as at present constituted be merged into the Riding of Lindis within the County of Vincent, such alteration to include all that area as set forth in the following description of the boundaries of the area to be so merged into and included in the Riding of Lindis, and that such alteration of boundaries shall come into force on the 1st day of April, 1921.

The area to be ceded from Hawera Riding and included in Lindis Riding is as follows: All that portion of Hawera Riding as at present constituted, bounded by a line commencing at the junction of the Clutha River and Section 14, Block VII, Tarras Survey District; thence in an easterly direction along the southern boundary of the said section to the road-junction; thence in a northerly direction along the said road to the north-west corner of Run 236J; thence in an easterly direction along the northern boundary of Run 236J; thence in a northerly direction along the western boundaries of Runs 236G, 236D, 236B, 235A, and part Run 233 to Mount Martha; thence in a southerly direction along the eastern boundary of Vincent County to Cluny Creek; thence in a north-westerly direction along Cluny Creek to the crest of the Dunstan Mountains; thence in a south-westerly direction along the south-eastern boundary of Run 236U till it reaches the eastern boundary of Run 2380; thence in a westerly direction along the northern boundary of Run 2380 to the eastern boundary of Section 4, Block XVII, Tarras Survey District; thence by the north-eastern boundary of Sections 4 and 3, Block XVII, and Section 4, Block XV, Tarras Survey District, to Lindis Burn; thence along the Lindis Burn to its confluence with the Clutha River; thence in a northerly direction along the Clutha River to the commencing-point.

Description of Riding Boundaries.

LINDIS RIDING.

Commencing at a point where Cluny Creek joins Lauder Creek at the Maniototo County boundary; thence running in a north-westerly direction up Cluny Creek to the top of the Dunstan Mountains; thence in a south-westerly direction along the crest of the said mountains, being the north-westerly boundaries of Runs 223M, 223L, 223N, 238N, 590, 589, 221H, 221I; thence down Leaning Rock Creek to the junction of the Clutha River; thence across the Clutha to the Carrick Riding; thence following the Carrick and Clutha Ridings to the south-west corner of Section 14, Block VII, Tarras Survey District; thence in an easterly direction along the southern boundary of the said section to the road-junction; thence in a northerly direction along the said road to the north-west corner of Run 236J; thence in an easterly direction along the northern boundary of Run 236J; thence in a northerly direction along the western boundaries of Runs 236G, 236D, 236B, 235A, and part Run 233 to Mount Martha on the Waitaki County boundary; thence following the Vincent County boundary in a southerly direction to the junction of Cluny Creek and Lauder Creek.

HAWERA RIDING.

Commencing at the junction of the Clutha River and the south-western corner of Section 14, Block VII, Tarras Survey District; thence in a northerly direction along the Clutha River to where it enters Lake Wanaka; thence following the east boundary of Lake County to the junction of Westland County; thence along the said county boundary to the junction with Waitaki County; thence in a southerly direction down the eastern boundary of Vincent County to Mount Martha; thence in a southerly direction along the north-west boundary of Lindis Riding to the commencing-point (the junction of the Clutha River and the south-west corner of Section 14, Block VII, Tarras Survey District).

DECLARATION.

In exercise of the powers conferred upon it under section 98 of the Counties Act, 1908, and the First Schedule of the Counties Amendment Act, 1915, the Vincent County Council hereby resolves by way of special order to merge the Tarras portion of the Hawera Riding into the Riding of Lindis within the County of Vincent as set forth in the attached motion and description of new boundaries.

And I hereby declare that the attached motion was passed at a special meeting of the Vincent County Council held on the 28th day of July, 1920, and confirmed at a special meeting of the said Council held on the 25th day of August, 1920.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Whangarei County Council held on the 12th day of March, 1920, the following resolution was passed, and submitted for confirmation at the ordinary meeting of the Council held on the 14th day of May, 1920, at 10 o’clock a.m., at the Council Chambers, Whangarei.

RESOLUTION.

In exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 10 of the Road Boards Act, 1908, and section 34 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1913, and of all and any other powers enabling it so to do, the Council of the Whangarei County hereby resolves:—

(a.) That, with the written consent of the Marua Road Board, the boundaries of the Marua Road District be altered as follows,—
