RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION STRIKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and amendments thereto, the Raglan County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £2,000, authorized to be raised by the Raglan County Council, under the provisions of the Counties Act, 1908, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and amendments thereto, and all other Acts (if any) it in that behalf enabling, and with the consent of the Governor in Council under section 20 of the Finance Act, 1919, as gazetted on page 1809 of the New Zealand Gazette, 1920, for the purpose of forming and metalling the Ponganui Road, within the Ponganui Special Rating District of the County of Raglan, the Raglan County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny and one farthing in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Ponganui Special Rating District of the County of Raglan.

The boundaries of the said Special Rating District are as follows: Commencing at the north-east corner of Section Opuatia 6601 6d No. 3, of Block X, Onewhero Survey District; thence south along the eastern boundaries of Sections Opuatia 6d No. 3, part Opuatia 5b, to the south-eastern corner of Opuatia 5b; thence along the southern boundary of the same section and the eastern boundary of Opuatia 6d No. 4, and the southern boundaries of Sections Opuatia 6d No. 4, 6d No. 7, 6c No. 3, to the south-west corner of Opuatia 6d No. 3; thence along the western boundary of the same section and the southern boundaries of Sections 3, 4, and 5 to the south-west corner of Section 5; thence north and east along the western and northern boundaries of Section 5 and the western boundary of Section 1 to the north-west corner of Section 1; thence east along the northern boundaries of Sections 1 and 2 to the north-eastern corner of Section 2; thence along the western and northern boundaries of Sections 6c Opuatia, and the northern boundaries of Section 6d No. 6 Opuatia, and Section 6601 6d No. 3 Opuatia, to the point of commencement.

And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of January in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, and the rate of interest to be paid to be four pounds ten shillings per centum per annum, together with an additional charge to provide the necessary sinking fund, or until the loan is fully paid off.

RICHMOND BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION STRIKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by section 16 (b) of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Richmond Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of five hundred pounds (£500), authorized to be raised by the Richmond Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of repaying the debentures issued by the Council in connection with the Rocks Road Loan, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/16th of one penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Richmond; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Acts amending the same.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the District of Canterbury, a body corporate, incorporated under the provisions of the Education Act, 1914, proposes to take, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, and its amendments, for educational purposes—that is to say, for the extension of the Richmond School grounds—all that parcel of land situated in the City of Christchurch, being part of Rural Section 41 on the map of the Chief Surveyor of the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement two acres three roods and twenty-nine perches, more or less, commencing at a point in Cumberland Street distant from the junction of Alexandra and Cumberland Streets a distance of 198·6 links in a northerly direction; thence bounded by a line on the east along Cumberland Street a distance of 540 links bearing 179° 31′; thence bounded on the north by a line 542·8 links bearing 89° 25′; thence bounded on the west by a line 539·3 links bearing 179° 42′; thence bounded on the south by a line 544·5 links bearing 89° 29′ back to the commencing-point: As the same is delineated in the plan mentioned below and therein coloured green.

And notice is hereby further given that a plan showing the land required to be taken, and the names of the owners and occupiers of such land, is deposited at the offices of the Education Board of the District of Canterbury, Oxford Terrace, Christchurch aforesaid, where it lies open for public inspection daily (without fee) during all reasonable hours; and that all persons affected shall, if they have any objection to the taking of such land, set forth in writing such objection, and send such writing, within forty days from the date of the first publication of such notice, being the first day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, addressed to the Chairman of the Education Board of the District of Canterbury, at the office of the Board, Oxford Terrace, Christchurch.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and their amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the City of Wellington proposes, under the provisions of the above-named Acts, and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—namely, extension of McKenzie Road of the City of Wellington; and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken.

And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, in the Town Hall, Cuba Street, in the said city, and is there open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of such lands should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Wellington City Council, addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.
