Proclaiming Native Land to be Crown Land under Section 14
of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section fourteen of the Native Land
Amendment Act, 1914, it is provided, inter alia,
that on being satisfied that the purchase of any Native land
has been duly completed by or on behalf of the Crown under
the authority of the Native Land Act, 1909, the Governor-
General may issue a Proclamation that such land has become
Crown land :

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power
and authority so conferred upon me by section fourteen of
the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914, I, Robert Stout, the
Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby proclaim the land set out in the Schedule
hereto to be Crown land.

SCHEDULE.

WHAREPUHUNGA No. 17A Block: Approximate area, 9,580
acres 2 roods 16 perches; Ranginui Survey District.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Administrator
of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand; and
issued under the Seal of that Dominion, at the Govern-
ment House at Wellington, this 31st day of August, 1920.

Appointing a Member of Assessment Court under the Valuation
of Land Act, 1908.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in him by the Valuation of Land Act, 1908, His
Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby appoint

JOHN CHARLES POTTS, Esq.,

to be a member of the Assessment Court for Kawhia County.

Approving the Kaitangata and District Miners’ Benefit Society
as a Miners’ Association.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 30th day of
August, 1920.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section eleven of the Coal-mines Amend-
ment Act, 1919, it is provided that the term “miners’
association” as used in section eighty of the Coal-mines Act,
1908 (relative to the sick and accident funds established in
connection with coal-mines), shall mean any organization or
society consisting wholly or principally of coal-miners and
approved by the Governor-General for the purposes of the
said section :

And whereas the Kaitangata and District Miners’ Benefit
Society has applied to be recognized as a miners’ association
for the purposes of the said section eighty, and is a society
consisting wholly or principally of coal-miners :

And whereas it is expedient that the Kaitangata and
District Miners’ Benefit Society shall be so recognized :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator of the
Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance
and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by
section eleven of the Coal-mines Amendment Act, 1919, and
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the
Kaitangata and District Miners’ Benefit Society as a miners’
association for the purposes of the said section eighty.

Declaring Portions of Road in Block XIV, Maungakaretu
Survey District, to be a Government Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 30th day of
August, 1920.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by
the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in
anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the
Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New
Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order
and declare that the portions of road described in the Schedule
hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council,
become a Government road.

Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon
coloured green.

Extending Time for closing Poll, Papatoetoe Town District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 30th day of
August, 1920.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in him by the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1908,
as amended by the Local Elections and Polls Amendment Act,
1913, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government
of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby extend the hour at which the poll to be held and
taken in the Papatoetoe Town District on the fifteenth day
of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, shall
close to seven o’clock in the afternoon of the day appointed.

Declaring Land to be no longer subject to Part XV of the
Native Land Act, 1909.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 30th day of
August, 1920.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section ninety-six of the Native Land
Amendment Act, 1913, it is enacted that the
Governor-General in Council may from time to time by
Order in Council declare that any land subject to Part XIV
or XV of the Native Land Act, 1909 (hereinafter referred
to as “the said Act”), and vested in a Maori Land Board,
shall no longer be subject to such parts of that Act, and shall
be revested in the Native owners thereof :

And whereas the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is
at present subject to Part XV of the said Act, and is vested
in the Aotea District Maori Land Board, which Board has
recommended that such land be no longer subject as aforesaid
and that it be revested in the Native owners :

And whereas the Administrator of the Government is
satisfied that the said land is not subject to any lease, license,
