Amendments and Additions to the Regulations under the Public Service Act, 1912.
IN pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred on him by the Public Service Act, 1912 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), the Commissioner, with the approval of the Administrator of the Government in Council, doth hereby revoke clause one hundred and nine of the regulations made under the said Act on the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, and regulation one hundred and ten, subsection five, as amended by notice published in New Zealand Gazette of the eighth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, and in lieu thereof doth hereby make the regulations set forth in the Schedule hereto. The regulations hereby made shall have effect on the date of the publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.
SCHEDULE.
REGULATION 109 is hereby revoked, and the following regulation substituted therefor:—
TRAVELLING-ALLOWANCES AND TRAVELLING-EXPENSES.
- All salaried officers shall receive travelling-allowance for personal expenses at the following rates:—
(a.) Officers drawing salaries not exceeding £160 per annum: Actual expenses.
(b.) Officers drawing salaries exceeding £160 and not exceeding £400 per annum … … 12 6
(c.) Officers drawing salaries exceeding £400 and not exceeding £500 per annum … … 15 0
(d.) Officers drawing salaries exceeding £500 and not exceeding £600 per annum … … 17 6
(e.) Officers drawing salaries exceeding £600 per annum … … … 20 0
Provided that while at sea, if the time occupied is more than twenty-four hours, the allowance shall be—
For the first day of absence from headquarters … 10 0
For subsequent days … … … 2 6
Regulation 110, subsection (5), is also hereby revoked, and the following subsection substituted therefor:—
“(5.) An officer travelling by train may claim, in lieu of the ordinary travelling-allowance, an allowance of 20s. for the day of departure or return, provided he has incurred the cost of a sleeping-berth on the train, a receipt for which must be produced. Such allowance shall cover a period of twenty-four hours from the time of departure or before the time of return, or the whole period occupied in travelling if such period is less than twenty-four hours.”

IT is hereby notified, for public information, that the Waikohu County Council has, by special order, declared prickly pear (Opuntia, any species) to be a noxious weed within the meaning of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1908, in the district under its jurisdiction.
