Minister’s Decisions under Customs Duties Act.

Customs Department, Wellington, 4th August, 1920.

IT is hereby notified for public information that the Hon. the Minister of Customs has decided to interpret the Customs Duties Act in relation to the undermentioned articles as follows:—

NOTE.—“Not otherwise enumerated” appears as n.o.e.; “other kinds” as o.k.; “articles and materials suited only for, and to be used solely in, the fabrication of goods in the Dominion” as a. & m.s. Articles marked thus † are revised decisions.

Celophane for hatmaking, of kinds similar to straw plait for hatmaking, not being hat and bonnet trimmings

16/52 Scientific apparatus, viz.:—

NOTE.—The following decision is cancelled: “Pianos, materials for the manufacture of, viz.: Frames, iron, attached to a soundboard and wrest plank, but not strung with wires and not having tuning-pins inserted—as A. and m.s.” (See Minister’s Order D. 48, gazetted on 11th March, 1920.)
