Notice of Intention to take Land in Block VIII, Otanake Survey District, for the Purpose of a Road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in Block VIII, Otanake Survey District; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Te Kuiti, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 1 acre 1 rood 37 perches.

In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 49198, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured pink.

THE following lists contain the results of the Public Service Entrance Examination held on the 29th June, 1920, and succeeding days. List I contains the names, arranged in order of merit, of candidates who passed the examination according to the regulations under the Public Service Act. List II contains the names, arranged in alphabetical order, of all who satisfied the Intermediate Examination requirements, and indicates further with an asterisk before the name those who passed “with credit” according to clause 8 of the Intermediate Examination Regulations.

The number in List II indicates the candidate’s position in order of merit in the Public Service List. The absence of a number shows that the candidate reached the standard required for the Intermediate Examination without passing the Public Service Entrance Examination.
