Special Regulations for Deer-shooting, Nelson.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I, Robert Stout, the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby make the following regulations prescribing the conditions under which certain red deer may be destroyed in the Nelson Acclimatization District.

REGULATIONS.

  1. NOTWITHSTANDING anything contained in the regulations made under the Animals Protection Act, 1908, dated 31st January, 1920, the Secretary of the Nelson Acclimatization Society at Nelson, or any person or persons duly authorized in writing by such Secretary, may, during the period hereinafter mentioned, kill red deer of either sex and of any age which, in the opinion of the said Secretary or of the said authorized persons, should be destroyed either by reason of age, deformity, or other physical imperfection.

  2. Such deer may be destroyed as aforesaid from 20th October, 1920, to 20th November, 1920, both days inclusive.

  3. A return shall be furnished to the Minister of Internal Affairs by the said Secretary within one calendar month after the expiry of the aforesaid period, and such return shall state the number and sexes of all red deer so destroyed as aforesaid, the dates and name of person by whom and the locality in which the deer were destroyed.

  4. Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing any person to sell any deer or any portion thereof.

  5. Any person who commits a breach of any of the provisions of these regulations shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding £20.

Declaring Road-line through Land in Ardkeen Settlement, Hawke’s Bay Land District, to be closed.

WHEREAS a report has been received from the Surveyor-General, from which it appears that the road described in the Schedule hereto is unformed and unused, and that the said road intersects land acquired under the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and is not suitable to the subdivision of such land :

Now, therefore, I, Robert Stout, the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of section eighty of the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do by this notice hereby close the road hereinafter described; and I do hereby declare that the said road shall thereupon become subject to the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

ARDKEEN SETTLEMENT.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road to be closed : 50 acres. Passing through Blocks 22, 23, 27, 34, and 35, Taramarama Survey District.

In the Hawke’s Bay Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 21/172, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, this 22nd day of July, 1920.

Notice of Change of the Purpose of a Reserve in Block X, Waitapu Survey District, Nelson Land District.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by section six of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), the Governor-General is empowered, in the case of any public reserve vested in His Majesty or the Governor-General for any of the purposes comprised in Class II of the Second Schedule to the said Act, to change the purpose for which such reserve was set apart to any other purpose :

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto is a reserve duly set apart for telegraph purposes, being a purpose within Class II in the Second Schedule to the said Act, and it is expedient to change, as hereinafter provided, the purpose of such reserve so set apart :

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance of the powers conferred on me by section six of the said Act as aforesaid, declare that the purpose of the said reserve is hereby changed from telegraph purposes to a site for a public hall. And I do hereby further declare that this notice is issued subject to the provisions of section seven of the said Act, and shall take effect according to the provisions of that section.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood, more or less, and being part of Section 18 of the Takaka Original District, in Block X, Waitapu Survey District. Commencing at a point on the eastern side of Commercial Road and distant 416 links from its intersection with the north-western boundary of the said Section 18, and having a frontage to the said road of 100 links by a depth of 250 links at right angles thereto : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/2625, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this twentieth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty.

Notice of Exchange of Reserve for Land of Equal Value, pursuant to Section 6 of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908.

WHEREAS by section six of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), the Governor-General is empowered, in the case of any public reserve vested in his Majesty or the Governor-General for any of the purposes comprised in Class II in the Second Schedule to the said Act, to exchange any of the land comprised in such reserve for other land of equal value to be dedicated to one or more of the purposes comprised in the said Class II :

And whereas the land described in Part I of the Schedule hereto was duly set apart as a resting-place for travelling stock, being a purpose within Class II in the Second Schedule to the said Act, and it is expedient that the said land should be exchanged for the Crown land of equal value described in Part II of the Schedule hereto, and that the land last referred to should be dedicated as a resting-place for travelling stock :

Now, therefore, I, Robert Stout, the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance of the powers conferred on me by section six of the said Act as aforesaid declare that the land described in Part I of the Schedule hereto is hereby exchanged for the land of equal value described in Part II of the Schedule hereto; and, further, that the land described in Part II of the Schedule hereto is hereby dedicated as a resting-place for travelling stock, being a purpose comprised in Class II of the Second Schedule of the Act. And I do hereby further declare that this notice is issued subject to the provisions of section seven of the said Act, and shall take effect according to the provisions of that section.

SCHEDULE.

PART I.

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, being Section 10 of Block XII, Omona Survey District, containing by admeasurement 13 acres 3 roods. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/2688, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged pink.

PART II.

All that area in the Taranaki Land District, being Section 27 of Block XII, Omona Survey District, containing by admeasurement 11 acres. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/2688A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged purple.
