MANUKAU COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and
its amendments, the Manukau County Council hereby resolves
as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund,
and other charges on a loan of £30,000, authorized to be
raised by the Manukau County Council, under the above-
named Act, for reforming, remetalling, and tarring all such
public roads within the Mangere Riding of the said county
as are at present formed and metalled (£30,000), the said
Manukau County Council hereby makes and levies a special
rate of 13/16ths of a penny in the pound upon the capital
value of all rateable property in the Mangere Riding of the
said county ; and that such special rate shall be an annually
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be pay-
able yearly on the 1st day of April in each year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until
the loan is fully paid off.

WHAKATANE HARBOUR BOARD.
RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the
Harbours Act, 1908, and the Whakatane Harbour Act, 1912,
and its amendments, and of all other powers (if any) it there-
unto enabling, the Whakatane Harbour Board hereby resolves
as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of in-
terest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Whakatane
Harbour Board General Improvements Loan of £6,500, 1920,
authorized to be raised by the Board, under the above-men-
tioned Acts, for the purpose of general harbour improvements,
the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-
twelfth (1/12th) of a penny in the pound sterling on the
rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rate-
able property in the harbour district of Whakatane ; and
that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate
during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the
first day of April in each year during the currency of such
loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half (36½) years, or
until the loan is fully paid off.

KIWITEA COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING AND LEVYING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and
of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Kiwitea
County Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Kiwitea
County Council’s Special Loan of £10,000, authorized to be
raised by the Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for
the purpose of purchasing land and erecting thereon county
employees’ houses, the said Council hereby makes and levies
a special rate of one-twentieth (1/20th) of a penny in the
pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the
capital value) of all rateable property in the County of
Kiwitea ; and that such special rate shall be an annually
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be pay-
able yearly on the 1st day of October in each year during
the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six (36)
years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

PAHIATUA COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESULT OF CARNIVAL PARK DOMAIN POLL.
PURSUANT to section 56 of the Reserves and other Lands
Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1919, I
hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the
County of Pahiatua taken on the 15th day of June, 1920, on
the proposal of the Pahiatua County Council to strike a
separate rate over the whole of the rateable property within
the said county, sufficient to produce a sum of one hundred
and fifty pounds annually for the maintenance and upkeep
of Carnival Park Domain, the number of votes recorded for
the proposal was 236, and the number of votes recorded
against the proposal was 72.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Gourock Ropework
Export Company (Limited) intends to carry on busi-
ness in the Dominion of New Zealand, and that the office of
the company where legal proceedings or notices may be
served upon it is at Room 7, Colonial Carrying Company’s
Building, Customhouse Quay, in the City of Wellington.

PAHIATUA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to the powers of section 56 of the Reserves
and other Lands Disposal and Public Bodies Empower-
ing Act, 1919, and of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,
and of the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1908, and the Acts
amending the same respectively, I hereby give notice that on
the 6th day of July, 1920, a proposal was submitted by the
Pahiatua Borough Council to the ratepayers of the Borough
of Pahiatua for striking a rate over the whole of the borough,
to produce an annual sum of one hundred and fifty pounds
(£150), to be paid to the Carnival Park Domain Board to be
used for the maintenance and improvement of the Carnival
Park.
And that the number of votes recorded respectively for
and against the proposal was as follows : For, 131 ; against,
8 ; informal, 1.
And I therefore declare the said proposal to be carried.

COUNTY OF WAITEMATA.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LANDS FOR ROADS.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, and amend-
ments thereto, by the Waitemata County Council, to execute
certain public works—to wit, construction of roads through
Allotments 32 and 36 of the Parish of Okura, in Block XVI,
Survey District of Waiwera ; also through Lot 1 of Allot-
ment 111 of the Parish of Takapuna, in Block VIII, Survey
District of Waitemata ; also through Allotments 62 and 63
of the Parish of Ararimu, in Block I, Survey District of Wai-
temata. And for the purpose of such public works the lands
described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken.
And notice is further given that the plans of the said roads
and of the lands as required to be taken are deposited for
public inspection at the office of the Waitemata County
Council, No. 410 New Zealand Insurance Buildings, Auckland.
And notice is also hereby given that all persons affected
by the execution of such public works or by the taking of
such lands shall, if they have any well-grounded objection to
the execution of the said public works or to the taking of
such lands, set forth the same n writing, within forty days
