along the creek-banks; the hills are all covered with fern and
manuka scrub and native grass, but can be greatly improved.
The portion of the runs south of the railway is of better
quality, and is generally open fern country carrying fern
and grass.

There are about 30 acres of flat on Small Grazing-run No. 10,
carrying tall manuka, and also a few swampy flats, the soil
being good.

The homestead-site of Small Grazing-run No. 10 consists of
good slopes fairly well grassed, and in the case of Small Graz-
ing-runs 11 and 12 consist of river-flats with a fair amount of
agricultural land intersected by the Motueka River.

Small Grazing-run No. 10 is two miles and a half, Small
Grazing-run No. 11 three miles and a quarter, and Small
Grazing-run No. 12 four miles and a half from Kohatu Rail-
