A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section sixty-three of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913, it is, amongst other things, enacted that in no case shall any moneys be expended under the provisions of the said section sixty-three in connection with any block of land, unless that block is set apart for selection under that section pursuant to Proclamation in that behalf:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of every power and authority enabling me in this behalf, and for the purposes of the aforesaid Act, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the land described in the Schedule hereto as set apart for selection.

SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—MAKARANUI BLOCK.

Lots 1 and 3 of Section 3, and Lots 2 and 4 of Section 4, Block VII, Makotuku Survey District: Area, 742 acres 1 rood.

Proclaiming Native Land to be Crown Land under Section 14 of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section fourteen of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914, it is provided, inter alia, that on being satisfied that the purchase of any Native land has been duly completed by or on behalf of the Crown under the authority of the Native Land Act, 1909, the Governor-General may issue a Proclamation that such land has become Crown land:

And whereas the purchase of the Native land set out in the Schedule hereto has been duly completed by or on behalf of the Crown under the authority of the Native Land Act, 1909:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority so conferred upon me by section fourteen of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the land set out in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land.

SCHEDULE.

MOKOIA Block Grant 3778, 1892 Act leases, Sale No. 1, being Lot 3, Section 8, and part Section 8 (D.P. 164), Block XI, Hawera Survey District: Area, 631 acres.

Constituting the Springs-Ellesmere Electric-power District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it is provided by section three of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1918, that any area or areas of land may be constituted an electric-power district under the said Act, and in the manner therein provided:

And whereas a petition, praying that the area described in the First Schedule hereto may be constituted an electric-power district under the said Act, was presented to the Governor-General on the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty:

And whereas such petition was publicly notified in the Lyttelton Times dated the twenty-ninth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, a newspaper circulating in the proposed electric-power district:

And whereas, after due inquiry, the Governor-General is of opinion that the petition should be granted, subject to the proposed boundaries of the district being altered as hereinafter appears:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section three of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1918, do hereby alter the proposed boundaries, and proclaim the district with the altered boundaries as described in the Second Schedule hereto to be an electric-power district, and I hereby assign to such district the name of the “Springs-Ellesmere Electric-power District.”

FIRST SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded, commencing at a point being the intersection by the boundary of the County of Ashburton of the Great South Road, thence towards the north-west by the Great South Road to the Christchurch-Dunedin Railway; thence by the said railway to the middle of the River Selwyn; thence by Malvern County to Paparua County; thence towards the north-east by Paparua County to Halswell County; thence by Halswell County to Wairewa County; thence towards the east generally by Wairewa County to Lake Ellesmere; thence towards the south by that lake to the mouth of the River Selwyn; thence towards the south-east by the Wairewa County and the South Pacific Ocean to Ashburton County; thence towards the south-west by the Ashburton County to the Great South Road at the place of commencement, being the north-western boundaries of the Ellesmere and Springs Counties, the north-eastern, eastern, and southern boundaries of the Springs County, and the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of the Ellesmere County. As the same are more particularly set forth in the Fifth and Sixth Schedules to the Selwyn County Subdivision Act, 1910. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 48556, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

SPRINGS-ELLESMERE ELECTRIC-POWER DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District being the Counties of Springs and Ellesmere as described in the Fifth and Sixth Schedules to the Selwyn County Subdivision Act,
