Consenting to Land being taken for the Purposes of a Public
Trust Office in the City of Wellington.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-fifth
day of May, 1920.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by the Public Works Act, 1908, it is, in
section fifteen thereof, inter alia, enacted that,
except for the purpose of a railway or defence purposes,
or for the purposes of any other work to be made under
the authority of a special Act, nothing in this Act contained
shall authorize the taking of any land occupied by any build-
ing, yard, garden, orchard, or vineyard, or in bona fide occu-
pation as an ornamental park or pleasure-ground, without
the previous consent of the Governor-General in Council :

And whereas part of the land described in the Schedule
hereto is occupied by a building, and the Minister of Public
Works has recommended the Governor-General to issue an
Order in Council under the said Act consenting to the taking
of the said land for the purposes of a Public Trust office :

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the above-in-
part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling
him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby consent to the land described in the Schedule
hereto being taken for the purposes above mentioned.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land being taken: 15·3
perches.

Being part of Section 7 (Block III, Thorndon Reclamation),
situated in the City of Wellington.

In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 48610,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon
edged red.

Consenting to Land being taken for the Purposes of a Public
School in the Borough of Napier.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-fifth
day of May, 1920.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by the Public Works Act, 1908, it is, in sec-
tion fifteen thereof, inter alia, enacted that, except for
the purpose of a railway or for defence purposes, or for the
purposes of any other work to be made under the authority of
a special Act, nothing in this Act contained shall authorize the
taking of any land occupied by any building, yard, garden,

of the owner first obtained :

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the above-in-
part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling

deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon
coloured as above mentioned.
