Opening National Endowment Land in Auckland Land
District for Selection.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur
William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare
that the national endowment land described in the Schedule
hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on
Monday, the twenty-sixth day of July, one thousand nine
hundred and twenty, at the rental mentioned in the said
Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be
leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.—
NATIONAL ENDOWMENT.
Tauranga County.—Aongatete Survey District.
SECTION 6, Block I: Area, 452 acres; capital value, £230;
half-yearly rent, £4 12s.
Altitude, 50 ft. to 400 ft. above sea-level. Broken land,
about 200 acres light bush, comprising manuka, tawa, rewa-
rewa, and a few puriri trees, with thick undergrowth of
scrub, supplejack, &c. Soil poor clay, on sandstone forma-
tion; well watered by small streams. Distant about two
miles and a half from Aongatete Butter-factory, about one
mile of which is coach-road, balance rough dray-road.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this twenty-fifth day of May, one thou-
sand nine hundred and twenty.

SECTION 3, Block IX: Area, 244 acres; capital value, £480;
half-yearly rent, £9 12s.
Section 3A, Block IX. Area, 200 acres; capital value,
£400; half-yearly rent, £8.
Section 3B, Block IX: Area, 200 acres; capital value,
£400; half-yearly rent, £8.
Section 3C, Block IX: Area, 200 acres; capital value,
£400; half-yearly rent, £8.
The sections, which have an elevation of 1,800 ft. to 1,900 ft.
above sea-level, are situated about two miles and a half
from Mamaku Railway-station by road, the greater part
of which has been formed, and provision is being made for
the construction of the unformed portions. The land is
level generally, and more or less covered with heavy forest
and dense undergrowth; but the milling-timber has been
removed. The bush carries a fair quantity of cattle feed,
the soil being of a very fair quality resting on soft rock and
pumice formation. There is no permanent water on the
sections.

nine hundred and twenty.
