UAWA COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE is hereby given that this Council proposes to execute a certain public work, and for that purpose to take the lands described in the Schedule hereto.

The works proposed to be undertaken are the formation, metalling, and drainage of a road in Te Kopuni Block, Kopuatarakihī 1d Block, and Kaiaua 2d 2 Block.

The owners of the land are Natives.

Any person having any objection to the taking of the land, or who may be injuriously affected by the construction of the road, is required to state the objection in writing, and send the writing to the office of the Uawa County Council, Gisborne Farmers’ Co-operative Company’s Buildings, Tolaga Bay, on or before the 19th day of June, 1920.

A plan of the land to be taken and of the work proposed to be undertaken may be seen at the office of the County Council during business hours.

UAWA COUNTY COUNCIL.

SPECIAL ORDER.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Uawa County Council held on Thursday, the 1st day of April, 1920, the following resolution was passed, and will be submitted for confirmation at the ordinary meeting of the Council to be held on Saturday, the 5th day of June, 1920, at 10.30 a.m., at the Council Office, Tolaga Bay :—

“ That this Council proceed by special order to raise the sum of £7,000, by way of loan from the State Advances Board, for the erection of workers’ dwellings in the county.”

NOTICE UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1908.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the District of Auckland intends to erect a public school, and to take under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, for the purpose of a public school within the meaning of the Education Act, 1914, the following land, namely :—

All that piece of land containing three acres three roods decimal four perches, more or less, being Lots 30 and 32 of Allotment 4 of Section 8 of the Suburbs of Auckland.

A plan of the said land, edged red, is deposited at the post-office at Ponsonby, and is there open for inspection by all persons at all reasonable hours.

All persons affected are hereby required and called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the erection of a public school or to the taking of such lands, and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Education Board of the District of Auckland, at its office, Williamson’s Chambers, in Shortland Street in the City of Auckland.

WAITOMO COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Waitomo County Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Waitomo County Council Kopaki East Loan of £1,850, 1920, authorized to be raised by the Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of metalling and culverting the Kopaki-Mangaokewa Road from the Kopaki Railway-station to the Mokau River, then to grade the road for about 400 chains, and metal and culvert the balance to its junction with the Mangaokewa Stream Road, the said Waitomo County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five-eighths of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Kopaki East Special Rating Area, such special rating area being bounded as follows,—

Commencing at the south-west corner of Section 3, Block IX, Pakaumanu Survey District, where it joins the railway-line, thence in a northerly direction along the western boundaries of the following sections—3 and 4, Block IX, Pakaumanu, 1, Block V, Pakaumanu Survey District, to the north-west corner of the said section ; thence to its northern and eastern boundary to the north-west corner of Rangitoto-Tuhua No. 351 No. 3B ; thence in an easterly direction along the northern boundary of Rangitoto-Tuhua 351 No. 3B, and then along the eastern boundary of the same section to the south-west corner of Rangitoto-Tuhua 351 No. 1 ; thence along the southern boundary of Rangitoto-Tuhua 351 No. 1, Rangitoto-Tuhua No. 25 No. 5B, to the western boundary of Rangitoto-Tuhua No. 36B ; thence in a southerly direction along the western boundary of Rangitoto-Tuhua 36B to the south-east corner of Rangitoto-Tuhua No. 25 No. 3B ; thence in a westerly direction along the southern boundary of the said section and the northern boundary of Rangitoto-Tuhua No. 25 No. 2B to the north-west corner of Rangitoto-Tuhua No. 25 No. 2B, then in a southerly direction along the western boundary to the Mokau River ; thence in a north-west direction along the Mokau River to the south-east corner of Rangitoto-Tuhua 68F Sec. 3A ; thence in a westerly direction along the southern boundary of the said section to the railway-line ; thence along the railway-line in a northerly direction to the starting-point.
