THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by the said Act, and all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby authorize the Featherston County Council to execute the said work; and I do hereby declare that the cost thereof shall be borne by the Featherston County Council and the Wairarapa South County Council in accordance with the aforesaid agreement; and I do hereby further direct that any contribution hereby required to be made as aforesaid by the Wairarapa South County Council shall be paid from time to time, in the proportion hereinbefore prescribed, out of the funds of the said Council, within a period of one month after demand in writing made by or on behalf of the Featherston County Council, and all such payments shall be made from time to time to the Clerk of the Featherston County Council for and on behalf of the Wairarapa South County Council.
SCHEDULE.
That bridge over the Huangarua River on the Martinborough-Ponatahi Road, in the Featherston County, Wellington Land District. As the site of the said bridge is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 48117, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this thirteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty.

Postmasters appointed to take and receive Statutory Declarations.
PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons set out in the Schedule hereto, being persons holding the office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, at the places set opposite their names in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.

Amendment of the Regulations under the Public Service Act, 1912.
IN pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred on him by the Public Service Act, 1912 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), the Commissioner, with the approval of the Governor-General in Council, doth hereby amend the regulations under the said Act made on the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, by adding the clauses set forth in the Schedule hereto. Such amendment shall have effect on the date of the publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.
SCHEDULE.
65B. WHERE an officer is retiring on superannuation or compensation after completing forty years’ service he may, at the discretion of the Commissioner, be granted six months’ leave on full pay or an equivalent payment in lieu thereof by way of allowance; provided that the sick-leave taken by him during his service has not exceeded six months, or that he has not at any time been granted furlough (extended leave of absence) on full or half pay.
65C. The Commissioner may, in his discretion, grant an equivalent payment by way of allowance in lieu of the special leave of absence which may be granted under clause 65A.
