I, JAMES HENRY SHARLAND, of the City of Nelson, in New Zealand, Express-driver, now or formerly called or known by the name of James Henry Shaw, hereby give notice that I have formally and absolutely renounced and abandoned the surname of Shaw, and adopted and assumed the surname of SHARLAND in lieu thereof; and that at all times hereafter I and my heirs will take and be known by the surname of SHARLAND in substitution for that of Shaw.

WAITEMATA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Waitemata County Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £966, being a supplementary 10-per-cent. loan of the original loan of £9,660, authorized to be raised by the Waitemata County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, and more particularly by section 18 thereof, for the completion of the construction and improvement generally of the roads in the Waitakere Riding of the County of Waitemata, the Waitemata County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-sixteenth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Waitakere Riding of the County of Waitemata; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

HOROWHENUA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Horowhenua County Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also for the other charges on a loan of £4,000, authorized to be raised by the Horowhenua County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of supplying water from the Levin Borough system to the various properties of the Avenue-Heatherlea Water-supply District, the said Horowhenua County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny and one farthing in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Avenue-Heatherlea Water-supply Special Rating District, comprising, in Blocks I, Waiopenu, and XIII, Mount Robinson Survey Districts, Horowhenua B 36 Section 1a, Lot 2 pt. 2J, 3G pt. 2B, 4B, Lot 2 pt. 2J, Lot 2K, 37B, pt. 3F, pts. 3F and 3G Lot 5, pt. 3G Lot 4, 2L 1E 1D Lot 7, pt. 2L 1E Lot 8, pt. 3G 3 Lot 3, 3G pt. 2B; 3B Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, D.P. 1799; 3B 1A; Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 of 3A; Manawatu-Kukutauaki 7D 3 Section 1, Section 2, Section 3 Lots 2 and 3, Reserve Sections 4 and 5; Lots 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 17, and 18; Heatherlea Settlement, Lots 22, 23, 24, and 25; Section 9, 1C, pt. 13, pt. 16; pt. Lots 2 and 3, D.P. 1531; pt. 16 and 17. And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Horowhenua County Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalment in respect of principal and interest and also for the other charges on a loan of £500, authorized to be raised by the Horowhenua County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of metalling the Kuku Soldiers’ Settlement Road, the said Horowhenua County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of nine-twentieths of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Kuku Soldiers’ Settlement Road Special Rating District, comprising Ohau No. 3 part Sections 8 and 20, and part Lot 5 of Sections 26 and 27; also Kuku Soldiers’ Settlement 1s, 2s, 3s, and 4s west, and 1s, 2s, 3s, 4s, and 5s east; all in Block IV, Waitohu S.D. And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the first day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

OTAMATEA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Otamatea County Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Otamatea County Council Road Improvement Loan of £10,000, 1920, authorized to be raised by the Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of purchasing three motor tractors, two stone-crushing plants complete, ploughs, scarifiers, graders, bins, hoppers, and sheds necessary for the metalling and general improvement of the roads throughout the county, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-ninth (1/9th) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable property in the County of Otamatea; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of May in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

WHANGAMOMONA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING AND LEVYING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Whangamomona County Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of one hundred pounds (£100), authorized to be raised by the Whangamomona County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for metalling the portion of the Kohuratahi Road between the Tangarakau Swing-bridge and Willis’s Bridge at the junction of the Whitianga and Kohuratahi Roads, in the County of Whangamomona, as far as the money will go, the said Whangamomona County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one farthing (¼d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Kohuratahi Road Loan of £100 Special Rating Area, comprising Sections 1, 14, 18, and 23, Block XV, Sections 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, and 8, Block XVI, Pouatu Survey District, and Sections 1, 2, and 3, Block IV, Mahoe Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first day of January and the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

HOBSON COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Hobson County Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of fifteen hundred pounds (£1,500), authorized to be raised by the Hobson County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of tar-sealing the Aratapu-Dargaville Road, the said Hobson County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-eighths of one penny (⅜d.) in the £1 upon the rateable property of the Aratapu Riding Special Rating District, comprising the whole of the Aratapu Riding of the Hobson County; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
