CHANGE OF NAME.

I HEREBY give notice that by a deed-poll dated the 13th day of March, 1920, duly executed and attested and intended to be enrolled forthwith in the office of the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Auckland, I formally and absolutely renounced and abandoned the use of my surname of Wilcox, and declared that I had assumed and adopted and intended thenceforth upon all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of WILLIAM THOMAS UNCLES instead of William Thomas Wilcox, and so as to be at all times thereafter called, known, and described by the name of WILLIAM THOMAS UNCLES only.

NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of section 230 of the Companies Act, 1908, an extraordinary general meeting of the above company will be held at 23 Shortland Street, Auckland, on Wednesday, 12th day of May, 1920, at 10.30 a.m., for the purpose of having laid before the meeting the accounts of the Liquidator showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing an explanation thereof given by the Liquidator.

The company will be asked to declare, by extraordinary resolution, how the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidator are to be disposed of.

MAUNGATANIWHA LAND COMPANY (LIMITED).

IN LIQUIDATION.

AT an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders of the above company held at Pahiatua on Monday, 19th April, 1920, the following extraordinary general resolution was unanimously adopted:—

“That the company, having disposed of its assets and thus terminated the objects for which it was formed, be wound up voluntarily.”

At the same meeting GEORGE GODFREY TAYLOR, of Pahiatua, Public Accountant, was appointed Liquidator.

AT extraordinary general meetings of the above-named company duly convened and held respectively on the 8th day of April, 1920, and the 23rd day of April, 1920, the subjoined resolution was duly passed and confirmed:—

ASHBURTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

SPECIAL ORDER TO MAKE AND LEVY A SPECIAL RATE TO PROVIDE THE INTEREST AND OTHER CHARGES ON A LOAN OF £35,000.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Ashburton Borough Council hereby resolves by way of special order as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £35,000, authorized to be raised, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of providing and constructing all things necessary for the efficient drainage and sanitation of the Borough of Ashburton, the said Ashburton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one shilling in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the whole of the Borough of Ashburton; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and be payable annually on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I, Robert Galbraith, Mayor of the Ashburton Borough Council, do hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed by way of special order by the Ashburton Borough Council at a duly constituted meeting of such Council held on the 22nd day of March, 1920, and confirmed on the 19th day of April, 1920.

WAIROA COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION LEVYING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Wairoa County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and repayment of principal and other charges on a loan of eight thousand pounds (£8,000), authorized to be raised by the Wairoa County Council, under the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of forming and metalling roads in the Mahia and Waikaremoana Ridings of the County of Wairoa, the Wairoa County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one twenty-sixth of a penny (1/26d.) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property comprised within the Mahia and Waikaremoana Ridings of the County of Wairoa; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

THAMES COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION PASSED BY THE COUNCIL AT A MEETING HELD ON THE 14TH DAY OF APRIL, 1920.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Thames County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of fifty thousand pounds (£50,000), authorized to be raised by the Thames County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the construction of roads and bridges within the Thames County Roads and Bridges Special Rating Area, the said Thames County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of fivepence halfpenny (5½d.) upon the rateable value of all rateable property (on the basis of the unimproved value) within the Thames County Roads and Bridges Special Rating Area, comprising all that area bounded as follows:—

Commencing at a point on the left bank at the mouth of the Kauaeranga River; thence along the said left bank of the Kauaeranga River to the north-east corner of Hawaiki Block (239 acres); thence along the eastern boundary of the said Hawaiki Block; thence along the south-east boundary of Ngaputaka Block, the north-western, north, and north-eastern boundary of Crown land (2,284 acres), the north and east boundary of Taparahi No. 2B Block, to its southern
