(h.) Installation of sewerage drainage system in the borough, £10,000; house connections for same, £5,000; engineering fees and contingencies, £1,000: £16,000
(i.) First year’s interest and sinking fund: £1,900
the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 157, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 88.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Southland Electric-power Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

SOUTHLAND ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.
Result of Poll.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Southland Electric-power District was taken on the 27th day of March, 1920, on the proposal of the Southland Electric-power Board to borrow the sum of £1,500,000 for the purpose of generating and distributing electric energy throughout the Southland Electric-power District from Monowai River and Lake, and that the result of the said poll was as follows: The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 6,516, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 415.
I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.
