Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this nineteenth day of April, 1920.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS by section twenty, subsection one, of the Finance Act, 1919, it is provided that, notwithstanding any Act to the contrary, it shall not be lawful or competent for any local authority or for any Harbour Board to borrow or contract to borrow any money (otherwise than by way of bank overdraft within the limit of its powers, if any, in that behalf), whether from the State Advances Office or from any other source whatever, and whether in pursuance of a special Act or under any other authority whatever, without the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council:

And whereas application has been made for the consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the several local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto to borrow the sums set out therein:

And whereas it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council should issue:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the raising of the loans hereinafter mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto, provided that the rate of interest at which the loans or any of them are to be raised shall in no case produce to the lender a return exceeding five and one-quarter pounds per centum per annum; and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Finance Act, 1919, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the loans hereby authorized.

Declaring Portion of Arapawanui Block Road, Hawke’s Bay County, to be a County Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this nineteenth day of April, 1920.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a county road.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of road, situated in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, Hawke’s Bay County, commencing at a point fifteen chains east from the western boundary of Section 5, Block XIII, Moeangiangi Survey District, and proceeding thence in an easterly direction generally, adjoining or passing through the said Section 5, Block XIII, and Section 1, Block XIV, Moeangiangi Survey District, and terminating at its junction with the main Tongoio–Arapawanui Road; being a distance of 2 miles 19 chains, more or less. As the said portion of road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 48397, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured green and lettered B-C.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a county road.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of road known as the Pakuratahi Block Road, situated in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, Hawke’s Bay County, commencing at a point on the western boundary of Section 1, Block VIII, Puketapu Survey District, and proceeding thence in a westerly direction generally, adjoining or passing through Sections 8, 7, 5, and 4, and terminating at the north-eastern corner of Section 7, all of Block VIII, Puketapu Survey District; being a distance of fifty-four chains, more or less. As the said portion of road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 48398, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red and lettered B-C.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portions of roads described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become county roads.

ALL that portion of road in the Awa-o-totara Block known as the Matahaura Road, situated in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, Hawke’s Bay County, commencing at a point on the northern boundary of Section 5, Block I, Moeangiangi Survey
