Prohibiting the Importation into New Zealand of a certain Publication.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this seventh day of January, 1920.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of that Dominion, and in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section forty-six of the Customs Act, 1913, and section two of the Regulation of Trade and Commerce Amendment Act, 1915, doth hereby prohibit the importation into New Zealand of the book named or described in the Schedule hereto.

THE book entitled “The New Unionism,” and purporting to be written by André Tridon, and published at New York, United States of America.

Notice as to Change of Purpose of a Reserve.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

WHEREAS, by notice issued pursuant to section six of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, dated the twenty-second day of May, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, and published in the Gazette of the twenty-ninth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, the purpose for which the reserve described in the Schedule hereto was set apart was changed from a site for a rifle range to a site for a prison:

And whereas the said notice was laid before Parliament pursuant to the provisions of section seven of the said Act, and no resolution has been passed by either House of Parliament that such House does not assent to such change of purpose:

And whereas it is provided by the said section seven that, if no such resolution is passed by either House, then, from and after the termination of the then session of Parliament, such change of purpose, in accordance with the terms of the notice, shall be valid and effectual for all purposes whatsoever:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify that no such resolution as aforesaid has been passed by either House of Parliament, and that the change of purpose as set forth in the notice aforesaid has taken effect accordingly as from the fifth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen (being the date of the termination of the session during which the notice aforesaid was laid before Parliament).

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing 362 acres 1 rood 27 perches, more or less, being parts of Sections Nos. 96, 100, 104, 105, 106, 108, and 206, Hutt Registration District, situate in Block I, Rimutaka Survey District, commencing at a point on the southern side of the Wellington-Napier Railway line, being the north-eastern corner of Section No. 3, Block I, Rimutaka Survey District, a school-site, and bounded towards the north and east generally by the railway-line aforesaid, 252·55 links; by parts of Sections Nos. 96, 100, 104, 206, 108, and 106, 1087 links, 1547·19 links, 699·68 links, 1554·4 links, 1491·83 links, 609·58 links, 1597·02 links, 1442·03 links, 4290·24 links, and 2628·51 links; towards the south by parts of Sections Nos. 106, 105, and 206, 5396·16 links; towards the west generally by part of Section No. 206, 420·35 links, 2508·71 links, 2386·63 links, and 1085·6 links; by Section No. 101, 1999·71 links; by Section No. 97, 43·62 links and 10 links; and by part Section No. 100, 246·58 links and 7·1 links; and by Section No. 3, Block I, Rimutaka Survey District, a school-site, 1093·6 links, to the place of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 46739, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
