APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A WATER-RACE.
UNDER THE MINING ACT, 1908.
To the Warden of the Otago Mining District at Roxburgh.
PURSUANT to the Mining Act, 1908, the undersigned, Thomas Philip Michelle, of Roxburgh, Miner, hereby applies for a license for a water-race, as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.
Precise time of marking out privilege applied for: Noon, 23/3/20.
Date and number of miner's right: 22/3/20; No. 118991.
Address for service: At the office of Stewart Fletcher, Solicitor, Scotland Street, Roxburgh.

Locality of the race, and its starting and terminal points: Commencing in a creek (name not known) running through Section 6, Block X, Teviot Survey District, and terminating in applicant's orchard (same land).

Length and intended course of race: Five chains; easterly.

Estimated time and cost of construction: One week; £5.
Mean depth and breadth: 6 in. by 18 in.
Number of heads to be diverted: Half a head.
Purpose for which water is to be used: Irrigation.

OTAMATEA COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the Otamatea County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £460 (four hundred and sixty pounds), authorized to be raised, under section 18 of the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of forming, metalling, and improving the roads in the Tokatoa Riding of the Otamatea County, the Otamatea County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-twelfth of a penny in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property lying within the Tokatoka Riding of the Otamatea County; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £5,000 (five thousand pounds), authorized to be raised by the Otamatea County Council, under the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of forming, metalling, and improving the roads in the Kaiwaka Riding of the Otamatea County, the said Otamatea County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five-eighths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property lying within the Kaiwaka Riding of the Otamatea County; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.
NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders of the Makerua Estate Company (Limited) held on Thursday, the 18th day of March, 1920, at the registered office of the company, No. 39 Johnston Street, Wellington, the following special resolutions were passed:—
(1.) That the company be wound up voluntarily under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1908; and that WILLIAM STANLEY WHEELER, of Wellington, Accountant, be and is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.
(2.) That the Liquidator be and is hereby specially authorized, in lieu of realizing the assets of the company, to distribute the same or any part thereof in kind pro rata amongst the shareholders of the company as may be agreed between the Liquidator and the shareholders.
Notice is also given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders of the Makerua Estate Company (Limited) held on Tuesday, the 13th day of April, 1920, at the registered office of the company, No. 39 Johnston Street, Wellington, the special resolutions before mentioned were confirmed.
