Altitude, 30 ft. to 150 ft. above sea-level. Undulating land, covered with light manuka and fern. Soil a brown loam of fair quality, on sandstone formation; poorly watered. Distant about two miles and a half from Awitu Post-office, two miles of which is by formed road, balance track along main ridge.
Bay of Islands County.—Hukerenui Survey District.
Section 27, Block II: Area, 956 acres 3 roods 30 perches; capital value, £975; annual instalment on deferred payment (excluding interest), £48 15s.; half-yearly rent on lease, £21 18s. 9d.
The elevation ranges from about 400 ft. to 600 ft. above sea-level. The soil is of clay, resting on ironstone rubble formation. The forest is heavy mixed, comprising rata, rimu, totara, taraire, &c., with a fair undergrowth of supplejack, punga, nikau. Well watered by several streams. About 150 acres of bush mostly in gullies, balance manuka and fern, undulating to broken and steep. Suitable for sheep. Distant from Taumarere and Hukerenui Railway-stations about thirteen and eleven miles, by cart-road (rough) from Taumarere and formed road from Hukerenui.

Elevation from 400 ft. to 600 ft. above sea-level. Soil is of clay, resting on rubble formation. The forest is mixed, comprising rata, rimu, totara, taraire, &c., with a fair undergrowth of nikau, punga, and supplejack. Well watered by several streams. About 100 acres of bush mostly in gullies, balance manuka and fern, carrying a quantity of danthonia feed. Suitable for sheep. Undulating to broken. Distant from Taumarere or Hukerenui Railway-stations thirteen and ten miles, by cart-road from Taumarere and fair-formed road from Hukerenui.

Altitude, 2 ft. to 250 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to hilly land; half heavy manuka, balance small manuka and fern. Soil sandy and strong clay of fair quality, on sandstone formation; poorly watered by small streams. Distant half a mile from Paihia Wharf by rough cart-track.
Section 71, Block XVI: Area, 101 acres 2 roods; capital value, £100; annual instalment on deferred payment (excluding interest), £5; half-yearly rent on lease, £2 5s.
Altitude, 80 ft. to 200 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to hilly country, covered with short manuka, about three-quarters ploughable. Soil an inferior clay, on clay subsoil; poorly watered by swamps at north end which may dry in summer. Distant about a mile and a quarter from Kawakawa Railway-station by formed road.
Mangonui County.—Mangonui Parish.
Sections S.E. 76 and E. 77: Area, 186 acres 2 roods 11 perches; capital value, £140; annual instalment on deferred payment (excluding interest), £7; half-yearly rent on lease, £3 3s.
Altitude, 300 ft. to 600 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to hilly land, covered with fern and manuka, except about 45 acres of mixed forest, comprising puriri, totara, rimu, taraire, &c., with moderate undergrowth of nikau, supplejack, &c. Clay soil of inferior quality, on sandstone formation; well watered by permanent streams. Distant about eight miles from Mangonui by formed road.
Rodney County.—Pakiri Survey District.
Section 38, Block XII: Area, 95 acres; capital value, £70; annual instalment on deferred payment (excluding interest), £3 10s.; half-yearly rent on lease, £1 11s. 6d.
Altitude, 100 ft. to 250 ft. above sea-level. Undulating land, covered with small scrub, about three-quarters ploughable. Soil brown clay, fair to medium quality, on sandstone formation; no water on section. Distant about one mile from Wellsford by good metalled cart-road.
Whangarei County.—Parahaki Parish.
Section 27: Area, 54 acres 0 roods 7 perches; capital value, £60; annual instalment on deferred payment (excluding interest), £3; half-yearly rent on lease, £1 7s.
Elevation from 250 ft. to 400 ft. above sea-level. Badly watered in summer, but water could be got by sinking. The soil is of clay, resting on clay formation. About 5 or 6 acres level on various parts of section, balance undulating to hilly, practically all tea-tree scrub and fern (partly burnt) and gorse. Distant from Whangarei three miles by cart-road metalled half way.
Waitemata County.—Paremoremo Parish.
Section 227: Area, 61 acres; capital value, £80; annual instalment on deferred payment (excluding interest), £4; half-yearly rent on lease, £1 16s.
Altitude, 50 ft. to 250 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to broken country, covered with small manuka and a few patches of mixed forest. About half the section is ploughable. Soil brown loam, on clay subsoil; poorly watered. Situated about three miles from Albany by formed road unmetalled.

Waitemata County.—Paremoremo Parish.
Section 247: Area, 24 acres 0 roods 20 perches; capital value, £95; annual instalment on deferred payment (excluding interest), £4 15s.; half-yearly rent on lease, £2 2s. 9d.
Weighted with £30, valuation for improvements consisting of fencing, &c.
Altitude, 50 ft. to 100 ft. above sea-level. Clay formation. Suitable for fruit or poultry farm. Land covered with short scrub and fern. Poorly watered, but water can probably be obtained by ridge sinking. Situated about two miles from River-head on the road to Albany.

Bay of Islands County.—Punakitere Survey District.
Section 11, Block XIV: Area, 576 acres 2 roods; capital value, £900; annual instalment on deferred payment (excluding interest), £45; half-yearly rent on lease, £20 5s.
Altitude, 300 ft. to 1,000 ft. above sea-level. Easy slopes to broken and steep country, one-half fern, balance heavy mixed forest comprising kahikatea, rata, rimu, taraire, &c., with strong undergrowth of nikau, punga, supplejack, and kiekie. Soil fair clay, on sandstone formation; well watered by streams. Distant fourteen miles from Kaikohe by formed road unmetalled.
Section 7, Block XV: Area, 440 acres; capital value, £650; annual instalment on deferred payment (excluding interest), £32 10s.; half-yearly rent on lease, £14 12s. 6d.
Altitude, 500 ft. to 1,000 ft. above sea-level. About one-half of area is standing bush, balance being fern and old kauri workings. The soil poor to fair clay, on sand formation. Mixed forest, comprising tawa, taraire, rimu, totara, and towai, with heavy undergrowth of kiekie, supplejack, and nikau. Well watered by several streams. Distant about fifteen miles from Kaikohe by formed road (two miles and a half from Awaroa Junction).
Mangonui County.—Rangawu Survey District.
Section 6, Block XII: Area, 160 acres; capital value, £200; annual instalment on deferred payment (excluding interest), £10; half-yearly rent on lease, £4 10s.
Altitude, from 50 ft. to 400 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to broken land, nearly all worked-out forest in fair feed. Soil of fair quality, sandy clay and pipeclay, on sandstone formation; well watered by small streams. Distant about ten miles from Awanui, five miles of which is formed cart-road, balance formed 6 ft. track.
