At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this twenty-ninth day of March, 1920.

THE HONOURABLE SIR WILLIAM FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by subsection one of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is, inter alia, provided that the said section shall not apply in any case where the local authority having control of a road or street by resolution declares that the provisions thereof shall not apply to any specified road or street, or any specified part thereof, and such resolution is approved by the Governor-General in Council:
And whereas by subsection two of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, and clause (b) of subsection one of section thirteen of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1911, it is provided that such approval may be either absolute or subject to such conditions with respect to the building-line as the Governor-General by Order in Council thinks fit to impose, and may refer to one or both sides of the road or street:
And whereas the West Harbour Borough Council, the local authority having control of the street and portion of street described in the Schedule hereto, hereinafter referred to as the said streets, has passed the following resolution-- viz., "The West Harbour Borough Council, being the local authority having control of the hereinafter-mentioned streets, hereby declares that the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to Clyde Street bounding the Township of Roseneath on its east side, nor to that portion of the District Road from Clyde Street eastward to the harbour, as shown on the plan produced":
And whereas it is deemed expedient that such resolution should be approved in so far as it refers to the south-eastern and north-eastern sides of the said streets, subject to the condition hereinafter mentioned:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the above-in-part-recited Acts, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the said resolution to the extent hereinbefore mentioned, subject to the condition that no building, or part of a building, shall be erected at any time on the south-eastern and north-eastern sides of the said streets within a distance of thirty-three feet of the centre-line of the said streets.
SCHEDULE.
The south-eastern side of Clyde Street, in the Otago Land District, Borough of West Harbour, situated between District Road and the Otago Harbour.
Also the north-eastern side of portion of District Road, in the said land district and borough, situated between Clyde Street and the Otago Harbour.
As the said streets are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 47626, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured pink.

Validating Proceedings in connection with a Loan of Β£4,000 proposed to be raised by the Council of the Borough of Waihi.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this twenty-ninth day of March, 1920.

THE HONOURABLE SIR WILLIAM FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Waihi Borough Council lately proposed to raise a loan of four thousand pounds for paying compensation or the purchase-price of an area of land at the Waihi Beach for the purposes of a public recreation and pleasure ground, and also for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the road known as the Waihi Beach Road leading to such area, under the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913:
And whereas the Returning Officer in giving notice of the poll did not give fourteen clear days' notice as required by section forty-one of the Local Elections and Polls Act:
And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been misled by such irregularity, and it is expedient to regulate the same:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section twenty-four of the Local Elections and Polls Amendment Act, 1913, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that the proceedings in connection with the said poll of ratepayers shall be valid to all intents and purposes as though the said fourteen clear days' notice of the poll had been given, and that the proceedings in connection with the said loan shall not be called into question by reason only of the irregularity aforesaid.

THE HONOURABLE SIR WILLIAM FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Clutha County Council, acting under and in pursuance of paragraph (e) of section sixteen of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, lately proposed to raise a loan of twelve hundred and fifty pounds for the purpose of erecting a bridge over the Catlins Estuary:
And whereas the ratepayers' consent given under paragraph (e) of section sixteen aforesaid is irregular, in that a subscribing ratepayer has attested the signatures of the other subscribers thereto:
And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been misled by the said irregularity, and it is expedient to validate the same:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section one hundred and eleven of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the ratepayers' consent to the raising of the said loan shall be valid to all intents and purposes as though the same had been properly witnessed, and that the validity of the proceedings in connection with the said loan shall not be called into question by reason only of the irregularity aforesaid.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby make the following regulations prescribing the conditions under which certain red deer may be destroyed in the Waitaki Acclimatization District.
