time to time, with respect to any public domain, appoint such persons (not exceeding nine) as he thinks fit to be a Domain Board having, subject to Part II of the said Act, control of such domain:
And whereas the domain described in the Schedule hereto was brought under the provisions of Part II of the said Act : And whereas it appears expedient to appoint a Domain Board to control the South Malvern Domain :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

AARON WILLIAM EVERETT,
WALTER BARTON GRIEVE,
JESSE JEWELL,
THOMAS SHEPLEY KESTEVEN, and JOHN THOMAS LEEMING
to be the South Malvern Domain Board, having the control of the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provisions of the said Act; and doth hereby appoint Saturday, the twenty-fourth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, at eight o'clock p.m., as the time when, and the Schoolhouse, South Malvern, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.
SCHEDULE.
SOUTH MALVERN DOMAIN.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 22 acres 3 roods, more or less, being Section No. 1388 (in red), Block VII, Hororata Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Section No. 328x ; towards the east by Section No. 12371, 940 links ; towards the south by the Selwyn River ; and towards the west by the road forming the eastern boundary of Section No. 35327, 2100 links : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 38516, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Duty on certain Tobacco imported into the Cook Islands.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this first day of April, 1920.
Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section three hundred and two of the Customs Act, 1913, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time by Order in Council modify the Tariff in its application to goods imported into the Cook Islands, but so that such modification shall not have the effect of imposing higher duties than those imposed by the Tariff:
And whereas by Order in Council dated the tenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the thirteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, the Tariff was modified in its application to certain tobacco imported into the Cook Islands:
And whereas it is expedient to amend the modification of the Tariff contained in the said Order in Council of the tenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section three hundred and two of the Customs Act, 1913, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Dominion of New Zealand, doth hereby revoke the said Order in Council of the tenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, and doth hereby modify the Tariff in its application to goods imported into the Cook Islands aforesaid by declaring and directing as follows :—

  1. That there shall be payable on all black twist tobacco of which the genuine invoice value at the time of importation is proved to the satisfaction of the Collector of Customs not to exceed four shillings and sixpence per pound, the following duties, that is to say,—
    (a.) When imported into or entered for home consumption in the Cook Islands (exclusive of the Island of Niue), a duty of one shilling per pound :
    (b.) When imported into or entered for home consumption in the Island of Niue (being one of the Cook Islands), a duty of two shillings per pound :
    Provided that a further duty of one shilling per pound shall be paid on the landing in the Island of Niue of any tobacco removed from other parts of the Cook Islands which has been admitted to entry at a duty of one shilling per pound.
  2. That this Order shall have effect on and after the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty.

    Declaring that the Provisions of Section 109 of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1913, shall apply to a certain Block of Native Land.

    THE HONOURABLE SIR WILLIAM FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
    WHEREAS by section twenty-three of the West Coast Settlement Reserves Amendment Act, 1913, it is enacted that the Governor-General may by Order in Council at any time declare that the provisions of section one hundred and nine of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1913, shall apply to any block, section, or subdivision of land comprised in leases granted or confirmed under the West Coast Settlement Reserves Act, 1881, and the amendments thereof:
    And whereas it is expedient that the provisions of section one hundred and nine aforesaid shall apply to the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto, for the purchase of which the Crown desires to negotiate :
    Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by section twenty-three of the West Coast Settlement Reserves Amendment Act, 1913, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that the provisions of section one hundred and nine of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1913, shall apply to the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto.
    SCHEDULE.
    ORIMUPIKO No. 18, being Section 6, Block X, Opunake Survey District (Grant 3924): Approximate area, 72 acres.
