MATAMATA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATES.—WAHAROA SPECIAL RATING AREA 10-PER-CENT. ADDITIONAL LOAN OF £100 TO COMPLETE DRAINAGE WORKS.


IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Matamata County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of one hundred pounds (£100), being 10 per cent. on a loan of £1,000 raised under the above-mentioned Act for land-drainage works, the said Matamata County Council hereby makes and levies special rates, on a graduated scale according to the classification list of all lands within the Waharoa Special Rating Area, of 5/32nds of one penny in the pound on the rateable value of all lands in Class “A,” 1/8th of one penny in the pound on the rateable value of all lands in Class “B,” and 1/9th of one penny in the pound on the rateable value of all lands in Class “C,” all of which classes and the lands therein, together with their respective rateable values, are set out on the Classification List and Valuation Schedule of the said Waharoa Special Rating Area, the boundaries of which are as follows:—

All that area in the Matamata Riding of the Matamata County commencing at a point at the northern corner of Section 26, Puketutu No. 1A Block; thence in an easterly direction following the county boundary-line to the railway-line which intersects at the north-eastern corner of Section 14 of Matamata South; thence following the said railway-line in a southerly direction to the south-east corner of Section 7 of Block II, Te Papa; thence along the southern boundary of the said section to the Waitoa River; thence in a northerly direction to the south-east corner of Section 57, Block II, Te Papa; thence along the southern boundary of the said section to the Puketutu Road on the western boundary of the said section; thence in a northerly direction until the said road is intersected by the county boundary-line at the south-west corner of Section 25 of Puketutu No. 1A; thence in a northerly direction to the northern corner of Section 26 of Puketutu No. 1A, the point of commencement.

All the said rates shall be annually recurring rates during the currency of such loan, and to be payable half-yearly on the first days of June and December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

HUTT RIVER BOARD.

RESOLUTION PASSED AT AN ORDINARY MEETING OF THE HUTT RIVER BOARD HELD ON 3RD MARCH, 1920.—£9,000 LOAN.


IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Hutt River Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £9,000, authorized to be raised by the Hutt River Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for acquiring machinery for the purpose of removal of stones, boulders, gravel, sand, and other material in the bed of the Hutt River, and disposing of the same in accordance with the powers of the River Boards Act, 1908, and its amendments, and the Public Works Act, 1908, and its amendments, and for the acquisition of land and construction of works in connection therewith, the said Hutt River Board hereby makes and levies a special rate upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Hutt River District of—

(a.) 9/80ths of a penny in the pound on Class “A” of the lands in the said district, being the lands receiving or likely to receive immediate and direct benefit from the said river works:

(b.) 5/80ths of a penny in the pound on Class “B” of the said lands, being those receiving or likely to receive less direct benefit therefrom:

(c.) 2/80ths of a penny in the pound on Class “C” of the said lands, being those receiving or likely to receive only an indirect benefit therefrom.

And that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first day of June and the first day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

WAITOMO COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.


In the matter of the Counties Act, 1908, and the Public Works Act, 1908.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Waitomo County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the laying-off and establishment of a road; and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk to the said Council situate in Taupiri Street in the Borough of Te Kuiti, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands, who have any well-grounded objection to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, must state their objections
