Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Board of the Gonville and Castlecliff Tramway District, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
I HEREBY give public notice that at a poll taken by the Gonville and Castlecliff Tramway Board on the 15th day of March, 1920, on the proposal to raise under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, a special loan of £5,000, to be called “The Gonville and Castlecliff Tramway Board Tramway Extension Loan,” the number of votes recorded was as follows: For the proposal, 41; against the proposal, 22.
I therefore declare such proposal to have been carried.

MATAURA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Result of Polls on Proposals to raise Loans.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Mataura taken on the 17th day of March, 1920, the result of the voting on each proposal was as hereunder separately stated:—
Loan of £6,850.—(1) For kerbing, channelling, and asphalting, £2,850; (2) for drainage-works, £4,000: The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 93, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 54; informal, 5.
Loan of £1,100.—For the reconstruction and extension of electric light and power works of the said Borough of Mataura: The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 108, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 41; informal, 3.
I therefore declare the proposals in respect of the foregoing loans to be carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Stratford, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

STRATFORD COUNTY COUNCIL.
South Riding Bridge Fund.
Copy of a Special Order instituted at a Special Meeting of the Stratford County Council held on the 19th day of October, 1918, and confirmed at a Meeting of the Council held on the 16th day of November, 1918.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Stratford County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund to secure the repayment of a loan or loans to be raised under the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for providing the funds for the reconstruction of bridges in the South Riding of the County of Stratford under the jurisdiction of the Stratford County Council, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one farthing in the pound (to be called a bridge rate) upon the capital value of all rateable property comprised within the South Riding of the County of Stratford; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan or loans, and be payable yearly on the first day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan or loans, or until such loan or loans are fully paid off.
I, Edward Walter, Chairman of the Stratford County Council, hereby certify that the above special order was instituted at a special meeting of the Stratford County Council held on the 19th day of October, 1918, and was confirmed at a meeting of the Council held on the 16th day of November, 1918.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loans.—Amended Declaration.
IN pursuance of section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Palmerston North taken on the 28th day of January, 1920, the result of the voting on each proposal was as hereunder separately stated:—
Loan of £39,500.—For concrete water-tables, laying down of roadways in tarred macadam or other process, construction or reinstatement of bridges in concrete, new footways and repairs to existing footways, and cycle-tracks: For the proposal, 520; against the proposal, 263.
Loan of £25,500.—For the extension of the sewerage system, water reticulation, and sewerage system for Hokowhitu: For the proposal, 538; against the proposal, 249.
Loan of £24,500.—For providing electrical traction, extension of lavatory accommodation, and the erection of a destructor: For the proposal, 520; against the proposal, 267.
Loan of £19,475.—For the widening, straightening, and deepening of the Kawau Drain, the carrying-out of the storm-water scheme, the construction of conduits, and the straightening, widening, and deepening of the Hokowhitu lagoons: For the proposal, 440; against the proposal, 342.
Loan of £10,000.—For the purchase of land at Terrace End and north-western part of borough for recreation purposes: For the proposal, 429; against the proposal, 357.
Loan of £7,300.—For the purchase of land for municipal buildings and public library: For the proposal, 458; against the proposal, 328.
Loan of £5,000.—For the carrying-out of extensions, alterations, and additions at abattoirs and boiling-down works: For the proposal, 484; against the proposal, 302.
I therefore declare the proposals in respect of all the foregoing loans to be carried.
