Notifying Lands in the North Auckland Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Monday, the thirty-first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

Sections weighted as follows: Section 34, £205 for house and fencing; Section 35, £425 for house, outbuildings, garden, &c.; Section 36, £325 for house, outbuildings, well, &c.

The Town of Kaimaumau is situated on Rangaunu Bay, near its mouth, and is one of the few deep-water landings on that bay. The distance from Auckland is 224 miles by water. The site of the township is level land, covered with wiwi and manuka scrub, somewhat low-lying and wet in winter, but easily drained.

Bay of Islands County.—Town of Russell.

Section 6: Area, 1 rood 2 perches; upset price, £25.
Section 7: Area, 1 rood 2 perches; upset price, £25.
Section 8: Area, 37 perches; upset price, £25.

Undulating to steep hillside, covered with manuka and fern. Lots 6 and 7 will require excavating to make room for buildings. Soil clay to clayey loam. Situated about twelve chains from Russell Wharf by good road.

SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Mongonui County.—Kaiaka Parish.

Section N.W. 27: Area, 24 acres 2 roods 38 perches, upset price, £50.
Section N.W. 29: Area, 40 acres 2 roods 6 perches; upset price, £90.
Section S.E. 29: Area, 19 acres 0 roods 31 perches; upset price, £40.

Elevation, 200 ft. to 400 ft. above sea-level. Clay soil, resting on limestone formation. Fairly heavy mixed forest comprising rimu, rewarewa, tawa, kohekohe, totara, puriri, and taraire, with heavy undergrowth of karamu, nikau, kiekie, &c. Well watered by several streams. Distant about nine miles from Oruru Village—about five miles and a half being formed road, balance unformed.

Whangarei County.—Whangarei Parish.

Section W. 84 (part): Area, 41 acres 2 roods 39 perches; upset price, £150.
Section S.E. 84 (part): 11 acres 0 roods 35 perches; upset price, £40.
Section N.E. 84 (part): Area, 2 acres 2 roods 21 perches; upset price, £8.
Section N. 84 (part): Area, 1 acre 1 rood 28 perches; upset price, £5.

Elevation from about 200 ft. to 600 ft. above sea-level. Soil semi-volcanic, medium quality, resting on clay formation. Forest fairly light, comprising young totaras and rimus, taraire, puriri, nikau, pungas, rata; mostly taraire, practically no fencing timber, with a light undergrowth of ferns, young totaras, kiki, &c. Well watered by creeks. About 6 acres very thick gorse, undulating, severed by deviation; balance mixed bush, all broken. Distant three miles from Kauri Railway-station by cart-road not metalled.

Whangarei County.—Mangapai Parish.

Section S.E. 81: Area, 51 acres 1 rood; upset price, £50.

Altitude, 100 ft. to 300 ft. above sea-level. Broken land, about two-thirds light mixed forest comprising punga, nikau, manuka, rata, six fair-sized and eleven small rimu-trees, and three dry kauri-rickers, with light undergrowth of ferns, &c.; balance of section covered with fern and Cape Pine (a noxious weed). Clay soil of fair quality; well watered by small streams. Distant nine miles from Oakleigh by cart-road in poor repair.

Otamatea County.—Kaiwaka Parish.

Section 172: Area, 22 acres 2 roods 15·1 perches; upset price, £35.

Altitude, 10 ft. to 50 ft. above sea-level. About 2 acres level, balance undulating, all in manuka scrub. Clay soil of fair quality, on clay subsoil; well watered by small stream. Distant about five miles and a quarter from Kaiwaka Railway-station, four miles and a half of which is by cart-road, balance unformed riding-track.

FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Rodney County.—Kourawhero Parish.

Section 86: Area, 9 acres 1 rood 16 perches; upset price, £70.

Elevation from 200 ft. to 250 ft. above sea-level. The soil is of good alluvial deposit, and resting on clay formation; well watered by creek. 9¼ acres of level river-flat, covered with patches of light bush, willows, and scrub mixed with patches of grass. Rather subject to floods. Distant from Warkworth four miles and a quarter, or Kaipara Flats Railway-station about three miles and a half.

Rodney County.—Oruawharo Parish.

Section S.E. 119: Area, 4 acres 3 roods 1 perch; upset price, £15.

Elevation from 80 ft. to 100 ft. above sea-level. Soil is brown loam, resting on clay formation. Undulating land, all ploughable, partially covered with light scrub; no water. Distant from Wellsford one mile and a half by good metal road.

Waitemata County.—Pukeatua Parish.

Section N.W. 293: Area, 9 acres 2 roods 38 perches; upset price, £20.

Altitude about 250 ft. above sea-level. Undulating land, half ploughable, covered with light manuka and fern and a small portion of heavy scrub. Soil brown loam, on clay subsoil; no water on section. Distant one mile from Okura by unformed road.

Waitemata County.—Waikumete Parish.

Section 127: Area, 7 acres 1 rood 6 perches; upset price, £75.

Elevation about 50 ft. to 150 ft. above sea-level. The soil is brown loam, resting on clay formation. Undulating land covered with tea-tree, all ploughable. Distant from New Lynn one mile by good road.

SUBURBAN LAND.

Franklin County.—Pukokohe Parish.

Lot 124 of Section 1: Area, 1 acre 0 roods 15 perches; upset price, £80.

Section is overrun with furze and blackberry. Good chocolate-coloured soil; no water; elevated position, making a good site for a house; fronts main road to Auckland, half a mile from Pukekohe Post-office. Section has also a frontage to a back street.

Otamatea County.—Wairau Parish.

Section S.W. 19: 59 acres 2 roods; upset price, £120. Weighted with £5, valuation for fencing and grassing.

Altitude, 300 ft. to 350 ft. above sea-level. Nearly all undulating country, a small part broken, covered with scrub and fern except about 2 acres felled and grassed, and a small clump of taraire bush for shelter. Soil for the most part a heavy black loam of fair quality, with a small area poor clay, on slate formation; fairly well watered by small stream and swampy spring. Distant two miles and a half from Maungaturoto Post-office by cart-road, or about five miles from Maungaturoto Railway-station.
