His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of that Dominion, and in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section forty-six of the Customs Act, 1913, and section two of the Regulation of Trade and Commerce Amendment Act, 1915, doth hereby prohibit the importation into New Zealand of the goods named or described in the Schedule hereto.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Board of the Morrinsville Town District, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

MORRINSVILLE TOWN BOARD.

Result of Poll on the Proposal to borrow £45,000 for the Purpose of a Water-supply.

Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Morrinsville Town District was taken on the above-mentioned proposal on the 25th day of February, 1920.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 207, and against the proposal 12.
I therefore declare the said proposal to be duly carried.

Notice fixing the Closing-hours of Ironmongers' Shops in the City of Dunedin, under the Shops and Offices Act, 1908.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the ironmongers' shops in the City of Dunedin, has been forwarded to me, desiring that

all such shops shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, at 5.30 p.m., and on Friday at 9 p.m., with the following exceptions—(1) the working-day immediately preceding Christmas Day, the working-day immediately preceding New Year's Day, and also the working-day immediately preceding Good Friday; (2) should the occupier of any shop affected by this requisition observe, pursuant to section 19 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, any of the days therein mentioned other than Saturday as the statutory closing-day in any week, then and in such case the closing-hour on Saturday for any such shop in that week shall be 5.30 p.m., provided that if such a day should fall on Friday the closing-hour on Saturday in that week shall be 9 p.m. :

And whereas the Dunedin City Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the ironmongers’ shops within the city of Dunedin :

Now, therefore, I, William Ferguson Massey, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, do hereby direct that on and after the 29th day of March, 1920, all ironmongers' shops within the City of Dunedin shall be closed as follows : On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 5.30 p.m., and on Fridays at 9 p.m., with the following exceptions—(1) on the working-day immediately preceding Christmas Day, on the working-day immediately preceding New Year’s Day, and on the working-day immediately preceding Good Friday, when there shall be no fixed closing-hour ; (2) subject to the foregoing exceptions, should the occupier of any shop affected by this requisition observe, pursuant to section 19 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, any of the days therein mentioned other than Saturday as the statutory closing-day in any week, then and in such case the closing-hour on Saturday for any such shop in that week shall be 5.30 p.m., provided that if such a day should fall on Friday the closing-hour on Saturday in that week for any such shop shall be 9 p.m.

Notice fixing the Closing-hours of (1) Cycle - dealers' and (2) Motor-dealers' Shops in the Borough of Petone, under the Shops and Offices Act, 1908.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in each of the trades of (1) cycle-dealer and (2) motor-dealer in the Borough of Petone, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the district shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows : On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 6 p.m. and on Fridays at 9 p.m., with the following exceptions—(1) on the working-day immediately preceding Christmas Day and on the working-day immediately preceding New Year’s Day the closing-hour shall be 10 p.m. ; (2) should the occupier of any shop affected by this requisition observe, pursuant to section 19 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, any day other than Saturday as the statutory closing-day in any week, then and in such case the closing-hour on Saturday in that week for any such shop shall be 6 p.m., provided that if such day should fall on a Friday the closing-hour on Saturday in that week for any such shop shall be 9 p.m. :

And whereas the Petone Borough Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in each of the trades of (1) cycle-dealer and (2) motor-dealer within the Borough of Petone :

Now, therefore, I, William Ferguson Massey, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, do hereby direct that on and after the 22nd day of March, 1920, all the shops in each of the trades of (1) cycle-dealer and (2) motor-dealer in the Borough of Petone shall be closed accordingly.
