THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Council of the Borough of Dannevirke, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

DANNEVIRKE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Dannevirke taken on the 18th day of February, 1920, on the proposal of the Dannevirke Borough Council to borrow £25,000 for the following purposes :—
£16,000 of the said loan to be used for purchasing the assets of the Dannevirke Gas Company (Limited), (with the exception of sinking fund, balance of sundry debtors, cash in hand, and all stocks of coal, coke, tar, stores, and other fittings) :
£1,500 of the said loan to be used for purchasing stocks on hand and other manufacturing and trading stock :
£4,000 of the said loan to be used for the extensions of mains, providing main pipes, services, &c., and all equipment in connection therewith :
£2,000 of the said loan to be used to extend the retort bench and other plant in unison therewith when required, and all equipment in connection therewith :
£1,500 of the said loan to be used for contingencies, preliminary expenses, cost of raising loan, and portion of first year’s interest (if necessary),
the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 318, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 63 ; informal, 11.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.

THE following notices, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Wairoa, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

WAIROA COUNTY COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Mahia and Waikaremoana Ridings of the County of Wairoa taken on the 7th day of February, 1920, on the proposal of the Wairoa County Council to borrow the sum of £15,000 for the following purposes :—
£
Road metalling . . . . . . 8,000
Purchase of machinery to carry out metalling . . 3,500
Erection of roadmen’s dwellings . . . . 3,000
Alterations to Council Chambers . . . . 500
the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 245, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 75.
I therefore declare the proposal was carried.

Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Waikaremoana Riding of the Wairoa County taken on Saturday, the 7th day of February, 1920, on the proposal of the Wairoa County Council to borrow the sum of £1,000 to provide portion of cost of constructing two traffic suspension bridges across the Waiau River, to give access to the Tutaekuri Block, and to form about one mile of dray-road through Tutaekuri 1c 4 and 1c 5 Blocks, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 146, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 40.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

RODNEY COUNTY COUNCIL.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Ahuroa-Komokoriki Special Rating District of the County of Rodney was taken on the 21st day of November, 1919, on the proposal of the Rodney County Council to borrow a sum of £400 for metalling the Ahuroa–Komokoriki Road.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 12, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 2.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Warkworth - Kaipara Flats Special Rating District of the County of Rodney was taken on the 21st day of November, 1919, on the proposal of the Rodney County Council to borrow a sum of £4,000 for metalling the Warkworth – Kaipara Flats Road.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 43, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 22.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
