UNITED TIMBER COMPANY (LIMITED).
MINUTES of extraordinary general meeting of shareholders in the UNITED TIMBER COMPANY (LIMITED), held at the office of Mr. John Phillips, 45 Customs Street East, Auckland, on 26th January, 1920.
Present: Messrs. I. J. Wilson (Chairman) and H. P. Taylor.
Moved by Mr. Wilson and seconded by Mr. Taylor,—
“That it is proved to the satisfaction of the meeting that the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue to carry on its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and that the company go into voluntary liquidation accordingly.”—Carried.
Moved by Mr. Wilson and seconded by Mr. Taylor,—
“That Mr. JOHN PHILLIPS be appointed Liquidator at a salary of two pounds ten shillings per week.”—Carried.

COUNTY OF CLUTHA.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Clutha County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also other charges on a loan of £1,250 authorized to be raised by the Clutha County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of erecting a bridge over the Catlin’s River Estuary, the said Clutha County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1½d. (one penny farthing) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Hina-Hina Special-rating District, comprising a portion of Catlin’s Riding in the County of Clutha, the boundaries of which district are as follows—Commencing at a point where the eastern side of a road passing through the Railway Reserve, Township of Ratanui, touches the Catlin’s Lake or Estuary, some 5 chains east from Trig. C; thence by the said Catlin’s Estuary (down-stream) to the Pacific Ocean, at the north-eastern corner of Section 13, Block I, Woodland S.D. (Pilot Station Reserve); thence by the coast-line of the said ocean in a southerly direction to a point where a road on the southern boundary of Section 3 (E.R.), Block II, Woodland S.D., joins the road on coast-line; thence across that road on coast-line and by the northern boundary-line of the road forming the south and south-west boundary of Sections 3 and 8, Block II, Woodland S.D., to a point at the south-east boundary of Section 5, Block VIII, Woodland S.D.; thence across the road, and by the southern boundary of Section 5, Block VIII, Woodland S.D., to a road-line forming the eastern boundary of Section 4, Block VIII, Woodland S.D.; thence across the road, and by the south-eastern,
western, and part of northern boundary of Section 4, Block VIII, Woodland S.D., to the western boundary-line of Section 4, Block III, Woodland S.D.; thence by the western and part of the northern boundary of Section 4, Block III, Woodland S.D., and across a road forming the western boundary-line of Section 14, Block III, Woodland S.D.; thence by the eastern side of that road-line, being the western boundary-line of Section 14, Block III, Woodland S.D., to Ratanui Township; thence by the eastern side of Shaw Street, Ratanui Township, to Lake Street, also in Ratanui Township; thence across the said Lake Street to the eastern side of road passing through Railway Reserve, Township of Ratanui; thence by the eastern side of that street or road to the point of commencement: and that such special rate be a annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above resolution is a true copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Clutha County Council held on the 30th day of January, 1920.

THE BOROUGH OF TE AWAMUTU.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Te Awamutu Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £10,000, authorized to be raised by the Te Awamutu Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for erecting workers’ dwellings, the said Te Awamutu Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of nine-sixteenths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all property of the Borough of Te Awamutu; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
We hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at a properly constituted meeting of the Te Awamutu Borough Council held on the 2nd day of February, 1920.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Act, 1913, the Te Awamutu Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £2,500, authorized to be raised by the Te Awamutu Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purchase of land as a site for a Town Hall and offices for the Te Awamutu Borough Council, the said Te Awamutu Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-sixteenths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Te Awamutu; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
We hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at a properly constituted meeting of the Te Awamutu Borough Council held on the 2nd day of February, 1920.

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund on a loan of £1,000, authorized to be raised by the Waikohu County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for widening two miles and a quarter of the Moanui Road
