Stopping a Government Road in Block IV, Waitoa Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by paragraph (c) of section one hundred and thirty-three of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor-General may, by Proclamation publicly notified, stop or alter the course of any Government road or any part thereof:
And whereas the Government road described in the Schedule hereto is no longer required for the purpose of a road:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the above-in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim as stopped the road described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road hereby stopped: 1 acre 0 roods 11Β·4 perches.
Adjoining or passing through Te Rae-o-te-Papa North C No. 2 and Te Rae-o-te-Papa North E No. 3.
Situated in Block IV, Waitoa Survey District. (S.O. 20323.)
In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 45486, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured green.

Land in Block VI, Waihou Survey District, taken for the More Effective Carrying-out of Drainage or other Works in the Hauraki Plains.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it is provided by subsection one of section nine of the Hauraki Plains Act, 1908, that the Governor-General may from time to time take, under the Public Works Act, 1908, as for a public work, or purchase, whether under the provisions of section twenty of the Maori Land Settlement Act, 1905, or otherwise, any area or areas of land adjacent to the land set apart under that Act as aforesaid, the acquisition of which is, in the opinion of the Governor-General, necessary for the more effective carrying-out of the drainage or other works authorized by the first-mentioned Act or for the better disposal of land so set apart:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto is adjacent to the land set apart under the Hauraki Plains Act, 1908, and the Governor-General has, in terms of subsection one of section nine of that Act, expressed the opinion that the acquisition of the land described in the Schedule hereto is necessary for the more effective carrying-out of the drainage or other works authorized by such Act:
And whereas all the conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land for the purposes hereinbefore specified have been observed and performed:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Hauraki Plains Act, 1908, and the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the more effective carrying-out of the said drainage or other works, as authorized by the Hauraki Plains Act, 1908, and shall vest in His Majesty the King as from the date hereinafter mentioned; and I do also hereby declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the twenty-eighth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 4 acres 2 roods, being Ongarehu or Te Kata-a-te-Kawau Block, situated in Block VI, Waihou Survey District (Auckland R.D.). (S.O. 20644.)
In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 47362, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged red.

Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this fifth day of February, 1920.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section twenty, subsection one, of the Finance Act, 1919, it is provided that, notwithstanding any Act to the contrary, it shall not be lawful or competent for any local authority or for any Harbour Board to borrow or contract to borrow any money (otherwise than by way of bank overdraft within the limit of its powers, if any, in that behalf), whether from the State Advances Office or from any other source whatever, and whether in pursuance of a special Act or under any other authority whatever, without the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council:
And whereas application has been made for the consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the several local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto to borrow the sums set out therein:
And whereas it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council should issue:
