described in the Third Schedule to the Wellington City Recla-
mation and Empowering Act, 1906; thence along the said
eastern boundary and high-water mark of Evans Bay to a
point on the southern boundary of land reclaimed by the Wel-
ington Patent Slip Company, distant 2434 links south and
10952 links east from Mount Cook Initial Station; thence
along lines bearing 117° 24′ distance 206·06 links, bearing
80° 28′ distance 157·58 links, bearing 2° 30′ distance 206·06
links, and bearing 27° 43′ distance 348·5 links (scaled), to high-
water mark, and again along high-water mark of Evans Bay
to a point on the eastern boundary of another portion of land
reclaimed by the said company, distant 1860·7 links south and
11775·16 links east from Mount Cook Initial Station; thence
along lines bearing due north distance 460 links, bearing
290° 58′ distance 91·17 links, to high-water mark, and along
high-water mark of Evans Bay and Lambton Harbour to the
north-eastern boundary of Te Aro Baths; thence along the
seaward boundary of the said Te Aro Baths to the north-
eastern corner of the land shown on plan marked M.D. 3188,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Marine at Wellington;
thence along the northern boundary of the said land to its
westernmost corner; thence along the seaward boundary of
the land shown on plan marked 1373, deposited in the office
of the District Land Registrar at Wellington, by lines bear-
ing 314° 57′ distance 123·72 links, bearing 15° 54′ distance
414·64 links, bearing 277° 45′ distance 739·8 links, and bear-
ing 262° 45′ distance 430·8 links, to the boundary of the land
granted to the Corporation of the City of Wellington by deed
of grant dated the 24th day of June, 1874, and along the
seaward boundary of the land so granted to the eastern
boundary of the land shown on plan marked M.D. 1332, de-
posited in the office of the Minister of Marine at Wellington;
thence along the seaward boundary of the said land by lines
bearing 12° 39′ distance 298·95 links, bearing 349° 41′ dis-
tance 329 links, bearing 347° 2′ distance 83·76 links, to a
point on the southern boundary of the land on plan marked
103/61, deposited in the District Survey Office at Wellin-
ton; thence along the seaward boundary of the said land by
lines bearing 81° 31′ distance 20·97 links, bearing 349° 34′ 37″
to the eastern boundary of the land granted to the Superin-
tendent of Wellington by grant dated the 20th day of June,
1862; thence along the seaward boundary of the last-men-
tioned grant to a point on the line marked “Proposed Limit
of Reclamation” on plan marked M.D. 2192 (sheet No. 1),
deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wel-
ington; thence along the said line to a point marked O on
the aforesaid plan, being a point on the eastern side of the
Railway Wharf as it existed in May, 1898; thence along
the said eastern side of the Railway Wharf to the southern-
most point of the land vested in the Wellington Harbour
Board by Order in Council, 25th April, 1887, and shown on
plan marked B/30, deposited in the office of the District
Land Registrar at Wellington and thereon edged green;
thence along the seaward boundary of that land to the
southernmost point marked E of the land described in the
First Schedule to the Wellington Harbour Board Reclama-
tion and Empowering Act, 1903, and shown on plan marked
M.D. 2636, deposited in the office of the Marine Department
at Wellington; and thence along the seaward boundary of
the last-mentioned land to the southernmost point marked C
on the land described in the First Schedule to the Wellington
Harbour Board Reclamation and Empowering Act 1903
Amendment Act, 1906, and shown on plan marked M.D. 2988,
deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellin-
ton; thence along the south-eastern, north-eastern, and
north-western boundaries of that land to the point marked B
on the said plan M.D. 2988; thence along a right line to the
easternmost corner of the land taken for railway purposes by
Proclamation in the New Zealand Gazette of the 7th May,
1891, and shown on plan marked P.W.D. 16469, deposited in
the office of the Public Works Department at Wellington;
thence along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries
of that land, the seaward boundaries of the Thorndon Baths,
and again along the south-western boundary of the aforesaid
land shown on the said plan marked P.W.D. 16469, to the
seaward boundary of the Wellington-Hutt Railway land;
and thence along the seaward boundary of the said Wellin-
ton-Hutt Railway land to the place of commencement. As
the same is delineated on the plan marked 49/59, deposited
in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at
Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

General of the Dominion of New Zealand; and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, at the Government

Alteration of Boundaries of Kahutara River District, County
of Featherston.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of section
three of the River Boards Amendment Act, 1913, a
majority of the ratepayers in the areas described in the First
Schedule hereto, situated in the County of Featherston, have
presented a petition to His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, praying that the lands
comprised in the said areas be included in the Kahutara River
District as constituted under the provisions of the River
Boards Act, 1908: And whereas it is desirable to alter the
boundaries of such river district in the manner hereinafter
appearing:
Now, therefore, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pur-
suance and exercise of the power and authority contained in
section fourteen of the River Boards Act, 1908, as amended
by section three of the River Boards Amendment Act, 1913,
and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this
behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, as on and from
the date hereof, the boundaries of the Kahutara River Dis-
trict shall be altered so as to include in the said district the
areas of lands described in the said petition and in the First
Schedule hereto; and do hereby proclaim and declare that
as on and from the aforesaid date the boundaries of the said
river district, with such addition as herein provided for, shall
be those described in the Second Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
AREA PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE KAHUTARA RIVER
DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a
line commencing at the northernmost point of Section 19,
Block XIV, Wairarapa Survey District, and proceeding thence
along the Opoura Stream to and along the south-western
boundary of the Kahutara River District as described in the
New Zealand Gazette, 1907, page 3543, to the Whakawerawera
Stream; thence along the right bank of that stream and the
Ruamahanga River to a road intersecting Mapuna-Atea Native
Reserve; thence along the eastern side of that road to the
south-eastern corner of Otaupuaroaro No. 1 Block, and along
the south-eastern boundary of that block for a distance of
40 chains; thence along a right line bearing 313°, distance
62 chains, to the western boundary of Otaupuaroaro No. B 4
Block, and along the north-western boundary of that block to
and along the southern boundaries of Sections 38 and 17 for
a distance of 42 chains; thence north-easterly along a right
line bearing 35°, distance 88 chains, to the north-eastern
corner of Section 44, Block XIII; thence due east along a
right line for a distance of 33 chains, and north-easterly along
a right line bearing 57°, distance 40 chains, to a point on the
eastern side of a road intersecting Section 17, Block XIV,
Wairarapa Survey District; thence north-easterly along the
eastern side of that road to the north-eastern boundary of the
said Section 17, and along that boundary, the northern
boundary of Section 38, and the western boundaries of Sec-
tions 39 and 19 to the point of commencement: be all the
aforesaid bearings and distances more or less.
Also all that area, being part of Kahutara No. 1 Block,
bounded towards the north-west by the Kahutara Main Road,
850 links; towards the north-east by lines bearing 142°,
1200 links, and 159°, 1900 links; towards the south-east by
a right line bearing 218°, 2100 links; and towards the south-
west by Section 3, Block XIV, Wairarapa Survey District:
be all the aforesaid bearings and distances more or less.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
BOUNDARIES OF KAHUTARA RIVER DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a
line commencing at the northernmost corner of Section 32,
Block XI, Wairarapa Survey District, and proceeding thence
south-easterly along the Mangatete Stream and the eastern
boundary of Section 2, Block XI aforesaid, to and across the
Kahutara Road to the north-eastern corner of Section 3,
Block XV; thence north-easterly along the southern side of
the said road, 850 links; thence by lines bearing 142°, 1200
links, 159°, 1900 links, and 218°, 2100 links, to the eastern
boundary of said Section 3; thence along that boundary and
the eastern boundaries of Section 4 to the Whakawerawera
Stream; thence along the right bank of that stream and the
Ruamahanga River to a road intersecting Mapuna-Atea
Native Reserve; thence along the eastern side of that road
to the south-eastern corner of Otaupuaroaro No. 1 Block, and
along the south-eastern boundary of that block for a distance
of 40 chains; thence along a right line bearing 313°, distance
62 chains, to the western boundary of Otaupuaroaro No. B 4
Block, and along the north-western boundary of that block
