RULE.

No person may be examined for a certificate of competency as marine engineer unless he is a British subject by birth or by naturalization in New Zealand.

Constitution of a Special Roading District in terms of Section 50 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913.

PURSUANT to section 50 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913, and the regulations thereunder, I, David Henry Guthrie, Minister of Lands, do hereby, on the recommendation of the Land Board of the Taranaki Land District, declare the lands referred to in the Schedule hereto to be a special district for the purposes of the said section; and such district shall be known as the Hapurua Special Road District.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Blocks II and III, Alexandra Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in Blocks II and III, Alexandra Survey District; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Whatawhata, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

Order vesting Property in the Custodian of Enemy Property.

I, WILLIAM CUNNINGHAM MacGREGOR, His Majesty’s Solicitor-General for the Dominion of New Zealand, being satisfied that the property specified in the Schedule hereto belongs at law or in equity to an enemy within the meaning of the regulations dated 5th August, 1919, issued under the War Regulations Act, 1914, do hereby, in pursuance of the authority conferred on me by clause 18 of the said regulations, declare that the property so specified in the Schedule hereto shall be vested in the Custodian of Enemy Property.
