CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

Land in Marlborough Land District declared forfeited.

NOTICE is hereby given that the license of the under-mentioned land having been declared forfeited by the resolution of the Marlborough Land Board, the said land has thereby reverted to the Crown, under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

SECTION 41, Block IV, Mount Olympus District. Tenure: Occupation with right of purchase. License No. 119. Formerly held by James Climo. Reason for forfeiture: Non-payment of rent and non-fulfilment of conditions.

Education Reserves in Auckland Land District for Lease by Public Tender.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 29th January, 1920.

NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders for the leases of the education reserves described in the Schedule hereto will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 1st March, 1920, under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1908, and amendments, and the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.


SCHEDULE.

TOWN OF HAMILTON WEST.—SUBDIVISIONS OF SECTION 56.

Lot 2: Area, 23·36 perches; upset annual rent, £7 10s.
Lot 3: Area, 28·37 perches; upset annual rent, £10.
Lot 7: Area, 13·6 perches; upset annual rent, £60.

These lots are situated close to the Hamilton Post-office. Lot 7 has about 44 ft. frontage to Grantham Street, and is well adapted for a business-site; Lots 2 and 3 front on Hillsborough Terrace, and have also access by a right-of-way to Grantham Street.

They are weighted with valuations for improvements as follows: Lot 2, two dwellinghouses of five rooms each, with conveniences, washhouses, and fencing, total valuation £782 10s.; Lot 7, levelling and filling, £20.

The lessee of Lot 7 will be required to set back any building erected by him, to a line bearing to the nearest corner of the post-office building.

ABSTRACT OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF LEASE.

  1. Term of lease, twenty-one years, with perpetual right of renewal for the same term at a rent to be determined by revaluation in accordance with the provisions of the First Schedule of the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908,

  2. Rents payable half-yearly, in advance, to the Receiver of Land Revenue, Auckland; the first half-yearly payment, with lease fee (£2 2s.), to be made on the fall of the hammer.

  3. No lease to be assigned, underlet, or the possession thereof parted with except with the consent of the Land Board.

  4. All rates, taxes, charges, and assessments whatsoever to be paid by the lessee.

  5. The leases shall be prepared generally in accordance with the provisions of the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.

  6. Interest at the rate of 10 per cent. per annum to be paid on rent in arrear.

  7. Consent of the Land Board to be obtained before subdividing, erecting any buildings, or effecting other improvements.

  8. Lease is liable to forfeiture if conditions violated.

Pastoral Run in Canterbury Land District for License to Discharged Soldiers.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Christchurch, 29th January, 1920.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned pastoral run is open for selection by discharged soldiers in terms of the Land Act, 1908, and the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, and amendments; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 22nd March, 1920.

Applicants must appear personally before the Land Board for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, on Wednesday, 24th March, 1920, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant so desires he may be examined by the Land Board of any other district.

The ballot will be held at the conclusion of the examination of applicants.


SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.—NATIONAL ENDOWMENT.

Ashburton County.—Heron, Somers, and Alford Survey Districts.

RUN 115A (Clent Hills): Area, 30,100 acres; annual rent, £564.

About 8,000 acres flat and undulating, remainder very steep and broken hills. Altitude, 2,276 ft. to 7,248 ft. Well watered. Fair tussock feed on the lower slopes, but little or no vegetation on the high tops.

The improvements that go with the land comprise about thirty miles of boundary and subdivisional fences, and two huts, the total value of which is £1,273 9s. Access is by good road (which crosses the Ashburton River twice), twenty-three miles from Mount Somers Railway-station.

Land in Otago Land District for Disposal on Renewable Lease.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Dunedin, 18th December, 1919.

NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to section 21 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913, that the undermentioned land is open for selection on renewable lease; and applications will be received at this office up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Thursday, 5th February, 1920.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.—NATIONAL ENDOWMENT.

Tuapeka County.—Greenvale Survey District.—Heriot Village Settlement.

SECTION 57, Block IV: Area, 2 acres 3 roods 39 perches; capital value, £45; half-yearly rent, 18s.

Situated on the outskirts of Heriot Township, about half a mile from railway-station, post-office, and school. Undulating land of good quality, the soil being a black loam on a clay formation. There is no permanent water on the section. There is a good road from Heriot.

Weighted with £5, valuation for fencing.
