Constituting the Puketutu-Piopio-Aria Railway District, in
the Auckland and Taranaki Land Districts.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it is provided by section three of the Local
Railways Act, 1914, that any continuous area may
be constituted a railway district under the said Act and in
the manner therein provided :

And whereas a petition, praying that the area prescribed
in the First Schedule hereto may be constituted a railway
district under the said Act, was presented to the Governor-
General on the twenty-eighth day of August, one thousand
nine hundred and eighteen :

And whereas such petition was publicly notified in the
King Country Chronicle of the twenty-fifth day of August
and the first and eighth days of September, one thousand
nine hundred and seventeen, being a newspaper circulating
in the proposed railway district :

And whereas the Governor-General is of opinion that the
petition should be granted subject to the description of the
boundaries being altered as hereinafter appears :

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl
of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby alter the description of the proposed
boundaries, and proclaim the district with the redefined
boundaries as described in the Second Schedule hereto to
be a railway district, and I do hereby assign to such district
the name of the Puketutu-Piopio-Aria Railway District.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

Bounded on the north by a line starting at high flood-level
on the north bank of the Mokau River where it crosses the
Auckland-Wellington Main Trunk line near the Puketutu
Railway-station ; then ce following north-west to the westerly
boundary of Section 2, Block VIII, Otanake Survey District ;
then ce north-east following the westerly boundary of the
above Section 2 ; then ce west ; then ce south-west following
the straight line to the north-west corner of Pukenui No. 2L 1 ;
then ce north and north-west following the westerly boundary
of Pukenui No. 2P 4 and 2P 1 and south-west boundary of
Pukenui No. 1B ; then ce south-west to the north-east corner
of Section 16, Block VI, Otanake Survey District ; then ce
following the north boundary of Section No. 16 and Section 1
to its north-west corner ; then ce southward to the south-
west corner of Section 1, Block VI ; then ce west along the
north boundary of Section No. 2 No. 24A, Kinohaku East ;
then ce south to the south-east corner of No. 2 No. 28 No. 14,
72 acres ; then ce westerly to the south-west corner of Kino-
haku East No. 2 No. 28 No. 16B South ; then ce north-west
to the north-east corner of Kinohaku East No. 2 No. 4B ;
then ce west to the block-line ; then ce south to the south-
east corner of Section 4, Block VIII, Maungamangero ;
then ce west and north-west to the north corner of Section 5 ;
then ce south-west and north-west to the north-west corner
of Kinohaku West K No. 1 ; then ce south to the south-east
corner of Section 14A ; then ce west in a direct line to the
south-west corner of Section 7, Block VII, Maungamangero ;
then ce in a direct line north and west to the Mahaenui-Ka-
whia Road ; then ce north and west along the Mahaenui-Ka-
whia Road to the north-east corner of Section 8, Block VI ;
then ce in a direct line north and west to the Mangaohae
River ; then ce south and west to the intersection of Section 9 ;
then ce west and south and east and south along the boundary
of Section 10 to the south-east corner of the forest reserve ;
then ce along the south boundary of the forest reserve to the
south-west corner.

Bounded on the west by a line starting at the south-west
corner of the above forest reserve ; then ce to the south-west
corner of Section 2 ; then ce along the west, south-west, and
south boundaries of Section 4, Block VIII, Whareorino ;
then ce north and east to the north-west corner of the forest
reserve ; then ce south and west to the south-west of the
above reserve ; then ce west to the north-west corner of
Section 2, Block I, Maungamangero ; then ce south to the
south-west corner of Section 1 ; then ce east to the north-
east corner of Section 3, Block IV, Awakino North Survey
District ; then ce south to the south-west corner of Section 4,
Block V, Awakino East ; then ce east to the north-east
corner of Mahaenui No. 6 ; then ce south and west to the
south-east corner of Mahaenui No. 6.

Bounded on the south by a line starting at the south-east
corner of Mahoenui No. 6 ; then ce north and east to the
south-west corner of Section 1, Block X, Awakino East ;
then ce south and east to the south-east corner of Manga-
awakino No. 6 ; then ce south and west to the south-west
corner of Mangaawakino No. 3 ; then ce south and east to
the south-east corner of Mangaawakino No. 3 ; then ce north-
east to the north-west corner of Mangapapa B No. 1 ; then ce
south and east to the Mokau River ; then ce south and west
to the north-west corner of Block VI, Mokau Survey Dis-
trict ; then ce along the block-line eastward to the north-
east corner of Block 6 ; then ce south to the south-west
corner of Block 5, Aria Survey District ; then ce east along
the block-line to Section 9, Block 5, Aria Survey District ;
then ce north-west, north-east, and south-east along the
boundary of Section 9 to the Waitewhena Road ; then ce
north to the north-west corner of Section 7, Block 6, Aria
Survey District ; then ce along the northern boundaries of
Sections 7, 9, and 5 to the north-east corner of Section 5 ;
then ce south and east to the Pirere Road ; then ce along the
southern boundary of Section 3 to the Ohura-Mokau Road ;
then ce following the Ohura-Mokau Road to the southern
point of Section 2.

Bounded on the east by a line starting at the above point
on the Ohura-Mokau Road ; then ce north and east along
the easterly boundaries of Sections 1 and 2, Block 8, to the
Rangipuanoano Trig. ; then ce north and west to the south-
west corner of 61D Section 2B, Native land, Block 4, Aria
Survey District ; then ce east to the south-east corner of
61D Section 2B, Block 4 ; then ce along the easterly boundary
of 61D Section 2B, &c., Block 4, to the north-west corner of
Section 1, Block 4, Aria Survey District, Crown land ; then ce
along the northern boundary of Section 1 to the Kakara
Road ; then ce along the Kakara Road to the Mangateka
Road ; then ce along the Mangateka Road to the south
corner of Section 6, Block II, Mapara Survey District ; then ce
north-west, north-east, and north following boundary-lines
to the north-east corner of Section 61L No. 2, Block 12 ;
then ce north following the westerly boundaries of 72B 1B
and 2B 1A ; then ce along the westerly boundaries of Sections
72B 2, 72B 3, 72B 3D, and 72B 3C ; then ce along the northern
boundary of Section 9 ; then ce south and east to the Ara-
mati Road ; then ce following the Aramati Road to the block
line ; then ce east along the block-line to the Main Trunk
line ; then ce north and west along the Main Trunk line to
the starting-point.

As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan
marked P.W.D. 45051, deposited in the office of the Minister
of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon edged in pink.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

PUKETUTU-PIOPIO-ARIA RAILWAY DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Auckland and Taranaki Land Districts
bounded by a line commencing at the north-eastern corner
of Section 11, Block IX, Maungamangero Survey District ;
then ce proceeding westerly along the road fronting Section 5,
Block IX, Maungamangero Survey District, Section 4, Block
VIII, Whareorino Survey District, and Sections 2, 3, 4, 1,
and 5, Block V, Maungamangero Survey District, to the
south-western boundary of Section 10, Block VI, Maunga-
mangero Survey District ; then ce along that boundary and
the north-western boundary of the said Section 10 and the
northern boundaries of Sections 9, 20, 19, and 8, Block VI,
Maungamangero Survey District, to the Mahoenui-Kawhia
Road ; then ce south-easterly along that road to the northern
boundary of Section 26, Block VII ; then ce along the northern
boundaries of the said Section 26, Sections 27, 28, 13, 12,
and 11, Block VII, and Sections 17 and 16, Block VIII,
Maungamangero Survey District, to the western boundary
of Kinohaku West K No. 1 Block ; then ce northerly along
that boundary and south-easterly along the north-eastern
boundary of the said block to and along the north-western
boundary of Section 5, Block VIII, Maungamangero Survey
District ; then ce south-easterly along the Mairoa Road to
and along the northern boundary of Section 3, Block VIII,
Maungamangero Survey District ; then ce along the western,
northern, and north-eastern boundaries of Kinohaku East
No. 2 Section 4B, the northern boundary of Kinohaku East
No. 2 Section 15, the northern and western boundaries of
Kinohaku East No. 2 Section 20, the western and northern
boundaries of Kinohaku East No. 2 Section 24A, and the
northern boundaries of Sections 1 and 16, Block VI, Otanake
Survey District, to the north-western boundary of Maraetaua
No. 2B 1 Block ; then ce north-easterly along that boundary
to the south-western boundary of the Pukenui No. 1B Block,
and along that boundary and the western boundaries of the
Pukenui No. 2P 1 and No. 2P 4 Blocks ; then ce along the
south-eastern boundaries of the last-mentioned block, Puke-
nui No. 2P 3 and No. 2W Blocks, the southern boundary of
Pukenui No. 2K 1, and the western boundary of Section 2,
Block VIII, Otanake Survey District, to the Mokau River ;
then ce up that river to the Main Trunk Railway line, and
along that line to the northern boundary of Block IV,
Mapara Survey District ; then ce westerly along the said
block-line and the northern boundary of Block III, Mapara
Survey District, to the south-eastern boundary of Section 8 ;
then ce along that boundary and the western boundaries of
Rangitoto-Tuhua No. 72B 3D, No. 72B 3B, No. 72B 2,
