WAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Waipa County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £3,000, authorized to be raised by the Waipa County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of paying the Waipa County Council’s proportion of the cost of erecting a bridge over the Waikato River at Horotiu, and approaches thereto, the said Waipa County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-hundredth part of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the district, comprising the whole of the County of Waipa; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and their amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the City of Wellington proposes, under the provisions of the above-named Acts, and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, to execute certain public works—namely, for street-widening and waterworks purposes, and the provisions of a pleasure-ground as hereunder specified; and for the purposes of such public works the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council in the Town Hall, Cuba Street, in the said city, and is there open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of such lands should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Wellington City Council, addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.

BOROUGH OF GORE.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Gore, acting under the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1908, and its amendments, and all other powers enabling the Council so to do, proposes to execute and construct within the Borough of Gore certain embankments, bridge, and other works for the purpose of protecting the Borough of Gore from floods in the Mataura River, and for that purpose to take by Proclamation under the said Act the lands more particularly described in the Schedule hereto. And notice is further given that a plan of the said lands has been deposited at the office of the Town Clerk, Town Hall, Mersey Street, Gore, and is open for inspection during office hours. All persons affected by the execution of such works or the taking of such lands are hereby called upon to send in writing to the said Council, within forty days from the eighteenth day of December, 1919, any well-grounded objections to the execution of such works or the taking of such lands.
