COOK COUNTY COUNCIL.
In the matter of the Counties Act, 1908, and the Public Works Act, 1908.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Cook County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the construction of a road through Blocks XIV, Whangara S.D., and IVA, Turanganui S.D.; and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the office of the said Council, situate in Childers Road, Gisborne, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons interested, who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, must state their objections in writing, and send the same to the office of the Council on or before the 24th day of January, 1920.

I HEREBY declare the following to be the result of the proposal to raise a loan of £2,000 (£1,300 for completing the works, and £700 for lending to ratepayers) taken this 10th day of December, 1919: For the proposal, 53; against the proposal, 7; informal, 0.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto existing between the undersigned under the style of “Anderson and Palmer,” Auctioneers and Furniture Dealers, is hereby dissolved as from the date hereof. The business will in the future be carried on by the said JOHN GEORGE ANDERSON at No. 633 and 635 Colombo Street, Christchurch, under the style of “George Anderson and Co.” All accounts due to and owing by the late firm will be paid to and by the said J. G. ANDERSON at the above address.

I, RICHARD STANLEY STOTHERS, of Linwood, Christchurch, Printer’s Apprentice, hereby give public notice that on the 4th day of December, 1919, I formally and absolutely renounced, relinquished, and abandoned the use of my baptismal surname of “Long,” and then assumed and adopted and determined thenceforth on all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of “Stothers” instead of the said name of “Long.”
And I give further notice that by a deed-poll dated the 4th day of December, duly executed and attested and enrolled at the Supreme Court Office, Christchurch, I formally and absolutely renounced and abandoned the said surname of “Long,” and declared that I had assumed and adopted and intended thenceforth upon all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of “Stothers” instead of “Long,” and so as to be at all times thereafter called, known, and described by the name of “Stothers” exclusively.

NOTICE is hereby given that the business of Second-hand Dealers carried on by us at Hall Street, Masterton, under the style of “Hughes and Sim,” has been dissolved as from the 6th day of December, 1919.
