IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the Valuation of Land Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and direct that the district valuation rolls for the districts enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be revised by the Valuer-General as at the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

WHEREAS by section nine of the Mining Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time by Order in Council appoint fit persons to be Wardens, who shall hold office during the Governor-General’s pleasure: Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by the said section nine of the Mining Act, 1908, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

WILLIAM ROY MCKEAN

to be a Warden, to hold and exercise the duties of such office under and subject to the provisions of the said Act during pleasure, on and from the twenty-fifth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Officers authorized to convene Courts-martial and to confirm Findings and Sentences thereof.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section thirteen of the Defence Amendment Act, 1912, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby authorize the undermentioned officers to convene general or district courts-martial for the trial under that Act of such persons subject to military law as are for the time being under or within the territorial limits of their command; and empower such officers to confirm the findings and sentences of general or district courts-martial, whether passed before or after the issue of this Warrant :

Lieut.-Colonel (temp. Colonel) THOMAS WILLIAM MC- DONALD, N.Z. Staff Corps, while commanding a military district.

Major (temp. Lieut.-Colonel) JAMES HENRY WHYTE, D.S.O., D.C.M., N.Z. Staff Corps, while commanding a military district.

Altering Districts under the Public Health Act, 1908.—(P.H. 5).

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by Warrant bearing date the twelfth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the seventeenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, the health district of Auckland was defined for the purposes of the Public Health Act, 1908 :

And whereas it is expedient to divide the health district of Auckland into two health districts :

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section six of the Public Health Act, 1908, do hereby revoke so much of the said Warrant as relates to the Auckland District, and in lieu thereof do hereby divide the part of New Zealand hitherto known as the Auckland District into the two health districts defined in the Schedule hereto, and do hereby declare that the names of such districts shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto, and that the boundaries of the said districts shall respectively extend to and include all counties and boroughs, town and road districts, geographically contained within such districts as specified in the said Schedule, together with all the islands adjacent thereto.

SCHEDULE.

NORTHLAND DISTRICT.

Comprising the Counties of Mangonui, Whangaroa, Bay of Islands, Hokianga, Whangarei, Hobson, and Otamatea.

AUCKLAND DISTRICT.

Comprising the Counties of Rodney, Waitemata, Great Barrier, Eden, Manukau, Franklin, Coromandel, Thames, Ohinemuri, Waikato, Raglan, Waipa, Piaki, Matamata, Tauranga, Rotorua, Whakatane, Opotiki, East Taupo, West Taupo, Kawhia, Awakino, Waitomo, Ohura, and Kaitieke.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this eighteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Regulations under the Census and Statistics Act, 1910.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority conferred upon me by the Census and Statistics Act, 1910, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby make the following regulations prescribing the method in which the statistical information relating to fire insurance required to be furnished under section twenty-one (h) of the Census and Statistics Act, 1910, shall be collected by the Statistician.

REGULATIONS.

  1. THE general manager for New Zealand of every fire-insurance company shall, upon request, within such time or times as he may be required by the Statistician so to do, furnish annually to the Statistician, or whomever he may appoint, the particulars specified in the form set out in the Schedule hereto, in accordance with the instructions accompanying this form, and shall sign the form and transmit it by post or otherwise to the Statistician or the officer appointed by him.

  2. In the preceding regulation—

“ The General Manager for New Zealand ” shall include the manager, secretary, clerk, or other responsible authority or person for the time being in charge of a fire-insurance company carrying on business in the Dominion; and, in the event of there being no such general manager for the Dominion, shall include the person or persons in charge for the time being of any branch or branches of such fire-insurance company carrying on business in New Zealand :

“ Fire-insurance company ” means any association, person, or persons, incorporated or unincorporated, who, within New Zealand, carry on the business of fire insurance either alone or in common with any other business; and includes companies registered or established out of New Zealand, and mutual associations as well as proprietary.
