Lieutenant Charles Theodore Gillespie, M.C., is struck off the
strength of the N.Z.E.F., and is absorbed into the Regiment
of Royal New Zealand Artillery with his original rank and
seniority, to date 25th June, 1919, and is appointed
Adjutant, Wellington Field Artillery Brigade, and retains
the rank of Lieutenant (temp.). Dated 26th June, 1919.

Notice determining the Duties of General Officer in Charge of
Administration, New Zealand Military Forces.
- HE will have personal charge of the administrative
services and departments at General Headquarters. - He will supervise generally the administrative services
of the Defence Department throughout the Dominion. - He will exercise his authority under the orders of the
G.O.C., N.Z. Military Forces, but will correspond direct with
the Minister on all administrative routine matters not involving questions of policy, which latter must be transmitted
through the G.O.C. - He will be responsible to the Minister, and on his behalf
will see-
(a.) That the money voted by Parliament is not expended
without due authority under the rules laid down by
Parliament and by the Treasury;
(b.) That the money voted is not diverted to purposes other
than those contemplated by Parliament;
(c.) That the sums allocated under the various items and
subheads of the votes are not exceeded;
(d.) That losses generally are not written off contrary to
regulations. - He will obtain the approval of the Minister of Defence
before authorizing expenditure in the following cases :-
(a.) All items of expenditure not provided for in the annual
appropriations voted by Parliament;
(b.) All items of expenditure exceeding £250, although such
items have already been provided for in the annual
appropriations voted by Parliament. - The powers conferred on the G.O. in charge of administration to authorize the writing-off of losses will be limited
to £20 in the case of cash, and £100 in cases of loss of stores,
animals, and supplies, except where such losses are by fraud,
suspected fraud, theft, arson, or gross carelessness, where the
authority to write off must receive the sanction of the Minister
of Defence. - He will represent the Department of Defence in all communications with the Audit and Treasury Departments, and
will conduct all correspondence with heads of State Departments. - He will be responsible for compilation of the parliamentary estimates for the Defence Department; review of proposals for new expenditure and financial relations with other
Departments. - He will submit to the Hon. Minister of Defence a monthly
return giving full details of all expenditure.

Act, 1908.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority
of the occupiers of all the shops in each of the trades
of (1) fruiterer and (2) greengrocer in the Borough of Petone,
has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in
the borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days
as follows : On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays,
Fridays, and Saturdays at 11 p.m., with the exception that
in the months of June, July, August, and September in
