Appointments, Promotions, Resignations, and Transfers of Officers of the N.Z. Staff Corps, Royal N.Z. Artillery, N.Z. Permanent Staff, and Territorial Force.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the N.Z. Staff Corps, Royal N.Z. Artillery, N.Z. Permanent Staff, and Territorial Force, and the reposting of officers from the N.Z. Expeditionary Force to the N.Z. Permanent Staff and Territorial Force.
APPOINTMENTS.
Colonel (temp.) Thomas Mill, C.M.G., C.B.E., M.B., N.Z. Medical Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Principal Medical Officer, Trentham Special Military Hospital, dated 16th June, 1919, and is appointed Officer Commanding Auckland Military Hospital. Dated 17th June, 1919.
Major (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) Murray Menzies Gard’ner, D.S.O., p.s.c., g., Royal N.Z. Artillery, relinquishes the appointment of Director of Artillery (Field). Dated 7th May, 1919.
Captain (temp. Major) Francis Gustavus Hume, Royal N.Z. Artillery, is appointed Group Commander, Group No. 10 (Timaru), Canterbury Military District. Dated 27th June, 1919.
Major (temp.) Francis Edward Ostler, O.B.E., Army Service Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Director of Supplies and Transport, and the temporary rank of Major, on termination of his engagement under the N.Z. Government. Dated 15th November, 1919.
Lieutenant Frederick Augustus Macdonald, 16th (Waikato) Regiment, relinquishes the appointment of Ship’s Adjutant and Quartermaster on H.M.N.Z. Transports, and is struck off the strength of the N.Z.E.F., dated 2nd July, 1919, and is appointed Assistant Vocational Officer, Canterbury Military District. Dated 3rd July, 1919.
Lieutenant (temp.) Clarence Noble Rabone, N.Z. Permanent Staff, is appointed Area Officer, Group No. 3 (Whangarei), Auckland Military District. Dated 9th June, 1919.
Captain David Bell, 12th (Otago) Mounted Rifles, relinquishes the appointment of Area Officer, No. 16 Group, Otago Military District. Dated 9th July, 1919.
Lieutenant Edgar Thomson Shand, 5th Mounted Rifles (Otago Hussars), relinquishes the appointment of Adjutant, Otago University Officers Training Corps, and is attached for duty to the Staff of the Air Force Adviser. Dated 30th May, 1919.
PROMOTIONS, RESIGNATIONS, AND TRANSFERS.
THE REGIMENT OF ROYAL N.Z. ARTILLERY.
Honorary Lieutenant Thomas Farquharson is retired, under the provisions of paragraph 127, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 17th June, 1919.
N.Z. PERMANENT STAFF.
Staff Sergeant-Major (W.O.) Alfred Richard Hatt is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant whilst employed as Area Officer, Pukekohe, Auckland Military District. Dated 28th June, 1919.
1ST MOUNTED RIFLES (CANTERBURY YEOMANRY CAVALRY).
The undermentioned are transferred to the Reserve of Officers:—
Captain Cuthbert William Free, and ceases to be seconded for service with the Indian Army. Dated 18th June, 1919.
Lieutenant Walter Andrews McMillan. Dated 26th June, 1919.
9TH (WELLINGTON EAST COAST) MOUNTED RIFLES.
Captain Harold Noel Kebbell is transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Dated 13th June, 1919.
2nd Lieutenant (temp.) Walter Raymond resigns his commission. Dated 13th June, 1919.
N.Z. FIELD ARTILLERY.
Captain (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) Alexander Fowler Roberts, C.B.E., to be Major, and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers with the honorary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. Dated 21st June, 1919.
CORPS OF N.Z. ENGINEERS—(N.Z. RAILWAY BATTALIONS).

Lieutenant Gilbert Simpson resigns his commission. Dated 18th June, 1919.
N.Z. POST AND TELEGRAPH CORPS.

Lieutenant Frederick Cecil Hubbard, M.C., to be Captain, under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 30th May, 1919.
Captain Charles Edward Reid is transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Dated 16th June, 1919.
2nd Lieutenant William Charles Edwin Hudson resigns his commission. Dated 16th June, 1919.
The commission granted Lieutenant Charles Henry Moltzen is cancelled, under the provisions of section 5 (a) of the Defence Act, 1909. Dated 24th June, 1919.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) Dugald Macdonald Robertson to be Captain. Dated 21st August, 1918.

Staff Quartermaster-Sergeant Claude Herbert Haigh to be Quartermaster and Honorary Lieutenant (temp.) whilst employed in the N.Z. Military Hospitals Branch. Dated 16th June, 1919.

Major Henry Percy Pickerill, M.D. (N.Z. Medical Corps, N.Z.E.F.), is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel whilst in command of the Special Military Hospital for facial injuries. Dated 12th June, 1919.
