THAMES BOROUGH COUNCIL.

DECLARATION OF POLL ON PROPOSAL TO ADOPT SYSTEM OF RATING ON UNIMPROVED VALUES.

PURSUANT to section 39 of the Rating Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Thames taken on the 19th day of June, 1919, on the proposal that the system of rating in the said borough be on the unimproved value, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 260, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 50.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

MOUNT ROSKILL ROAD BOARD.

EXTRACT FROM THE MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS AT A MEETING HELD ON THE 24TH DAY OF JUNE, 1919.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Mount Roskill Road Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Mount Roskill Road Construction Loan of £18,000, 1919, authorized to be raised by the Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of road-construction, the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-eighths of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Mount Roskill Road Board District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 31st day of July in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I certify the above resolution was duly passed.

BOROUGH OF RANGIORA.

RESULT OF POLL.

PURSUANT to section 39 of the Rating Act, 1908, I hereby give public notice that at a poll of the ratepayers held at the Borough Council Chambers, Rangiora, on Thursday, the 19th day of June, 1919, on the proposal that the adoption of the system of rating property on the basis of the unimproved value thereof be rescinded in the Borough of Rangiora, the number of votes recorded was as follows: For the above proposal, 151 votes; against the above proposal, 145 votes; informal, 1.

I therefore declare that the proposal is carried.

TUMU-KAITUNA DRAINAGE BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Tumu-Kaituna Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £3,500, authorized to be raised by the Tumu-Kaituna Drainage Board, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for widening and deepening existing drains and making new drains and floodgates, the said Tumu-Kaituna Drainage Board makes and levies a special rate of 4d. in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property of the Tumu-Kaituna Drainage District classified as Class “A,” and of 2d. in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property of the said district classified Class “B,” and of 1½d. in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property of the said district classified as Class “C,” comprising the whole of the Tumu-Kaituna Drainage District; and that such special rate be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I, Henry Albert Vercoe, Chairman of the Tumu-Kaituna Drainage Board, hereby certify that the above is a true copy of the resolution duly passed at a meeting of the said Board held on the twelfth day of March, 1919.

Given under the seal of the Tumu-Kaituna Drainage Board this twenty-fourth day of June, 1919.
