Reward.—Forgery of Bank-notes.—Counterfeiting Coin.

Wellington, 13th June, 1919.

IT is hereby notified that a reward not exceeding £100 will be paid for information leading to the discovery of any plant or material used in the production of forged bank-notes of the lawful currency of the Dominion, or forged postal notes and post-office orders of the Post Office of New Zealand, or leading to the arrest of any person proved to be concerned in forging or knowingly uttering such forged notes or orders, or in coining or knowingly uttering counterfeit coin.

Notification of the Number of Valid Votes recorded in respect of National Prohibition at the Special Licensing Poll taken on the 10th Day of April, 1919, and of the Result thereof.

IN pursuance of the provisions of section 13 of the Licensing Amendment Act, 1918, I, Thomas Mason Wilford, Minister of Justice, do hereby notify that the total number of valid votes recorded at the poll throughout New Zealand (including the votes recorded out of New Zealand by members of an Expeditionary Force) was 518,016.

And I do further notify that the total number of valid votes recorded throughout New Zealand (including the votes recorded out of New Zealand by members of an Expeditionary Force) in respect of the proposals submitted under section 3 of the said Act was as under, viz. :---

For national continuance .. .. .. 264,189
For national prohibition with compensation .. 253,827

As the total number of valid votes recorded for national prohibition was less than the total number of valid votes recorded for national continuance, I hereby notify that the result of the poll is for national continuance.

Notice of the Taking and Laying-off of a Road in Block VI, Tahoraite Survey District, Hawke’s Bay Land District.

NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, under the authority of section 14 of the Land Act, 1908, that the road described in the Schedule hereto was, on the 2nd day of May, 1919, duly taken and laid off through the land specified in the said Schedule, under the authority of the Governor-General of the said Dominion, by Warrant dated the 20th day of March, 1919.
